If you were given an antique cupboard which is still in good condition? Would you have it revarnished and redone so that it'll look brand new or would you rather sell it away? I am unsure whether to keep it of to sell it off.

If you don't want them, pass to me..lol. I just love antique. I had one 52 years antique so call showcase which required 5 men to carry them when we move house. It is a pass down from my great god parents to my god dad. Dont recond them if you want to keep it. What you can do is just clean them and perhaps varnish it. Let the antique be like what it is. Eventually, if you decide to sell them off, do some howework of the value of it so you can sel them at a higher price but if you intend to throw them away, if you dont appreciate antique (maklum barang lama) then give me a ring. hehhheehhee....

After much discussion, I think I shall keep it and have it cleaned. Most probably, I'll have it varnish. Dun wori... I'll let you know if I'd decided to cart it off..... Thanks.

Thank you for the best response choice. I hope one day, I got the chance to really see the antique.

I can't pretend to be an expert on this but I do watch a few antiques shows. One of the things I saw recently was a piece of furniture that had been restored and according to the expert restoring the piece had actually decreased it's value. All I can recommend is that you check with an antiques store or similar who would be expected to know whether having it restored would affect its value positively or negatively.

Thank you for the information. Now I know that not all antiques that have been restored would have a higher value. I think I should consult someone pertaining to this. Thanks again.
