Does News Coverage Encourage people to Commit Violent Acts?

With all the news coverage on the Virginia Tech shootings, do you think this encourages others who have these thoughts to do so also? I feel it does! When they see all the publicity with the breaking news stories and such, I think they may think it is their chance to make the news also. Do you think the News went overboard with their coverage on the shootings? To me this is inviting more sick people to try to make a statement this way. And there has already been more trouble since this has happened.

I sometimes wonder about the New Coverage sometimes. I have noticed they don't hide much anymore. With the children now days it seems as if they watch tv and learn. To get technical, the books they read and games they play teach the same too. Thanks for writing about this.
