Ok...i have a 20 gb ipod with me...
so can anyone tell me that there's a way to play video file on it....

if you say that it is a 2005 version, then it should be an ipod photo version, you will not be able to put videos on it normally with apple software.
You still can put videos and play on it, but you must install another os (if you can call an operative system, the software that controls your ipod distributed by apple) on the ipod, there is linux for ipod, it will allow you to put some amazing stuff into your ipod, but since you're installing an "OS" that is not the original one, there is a little possibility to damage your ipod, i think the page is ipodlinux.org or something like that, when you put that in your ipod, you will be able to put games, music, videos (any type of videos) and some other amazing stuff on your ipod, but always be careful

i just tell you about ipod linux, because some time ago i read that you can play doom on an ipod, and that it works well only in the ipod photo (the news are when there was still just ipod photo, not video) but i haven't go into ipodlinux recently, but right know i checked their page, and saw that they still not offer full support on ipod photo, sorry but i can't think anything else.

ya i have tried that also......but ipod linux is not compatible for photo ipods...

This may be a silly question, but is it a video ipod? If it isn't, then it's only designed to play music and will not play you video.
