What is the best idea you've heard of for a marriage proposal? The most romantic, the most creative, the hardest to pull off? Do you have any stories of experiences that didn't work out so well? I'd like to hear the interesting opinions of both men and women.

my dear, let me not shock you but you will need to wake up to reality . i was in fantasy world just like you, i thought my prince charming would stop the earth and propose to be in the most amazing way.... the reality it was actually the WORST EVER. and i mean ever.
we were on our way to the park and he proposed in the car ' hey lets get married in june' i said 'mmh okey' months later i confronted him for giving me the worst proposal ever, you know what he did,,, he came over to me on both his knees and hugged me and said ' will you be my wife' i was horrified!! i wanted to leave him, because he had broken all the laws of engagement - i mean i didnt get a ring, nothing. he is really not the romantic type at all. he has only mentioned the love word onces but i know he loves me. so there girl.
am marrying him in a months time, with no wedding ring.
thats life

hello! hehehe guess you are right! well, i have responded this discussion a year ago..hehe i almost forgot what this was about. but really, now, i know better. the ring doesnt really matter, what counts is that you love the person and he loves you and he tells you sincerely how much he loves and cares. as long as you see the sincerity though his words, then that would be the most beautiful proposal! i am inlove and this feeling is all i care for..hehehe my boyfriend and i are still together and deeper in love this time! we are talking about marriage just like you..

I think my husband's marriage proposal to me falls under the 'worse' category, lol. I was put on the spot during a party at my dad's house, we were all drinking and noone was really sober that night. What he said was 'i love you, do you love me? If you love me as much as i love you then i want to marry you on this day next month' and my response (after lots of staring and stuttering) was, 'then i guess we're getting married next month' after we sobered up we decided we still wanted to get married but we didn't want to do it in a month. My dad and his wife and my sister were all sitting there staring, none of them could believe that i'd actually agreed. I'm not exactly a lovey-dovey person and they never thought i'd marry anyone, especially not like that. I'm a very private person, they were all expecting me to punch him or something for making me the center of attention like that, lol. i'm not a big fan of how we ended up engaged, but i'm glad we did. In all the decisions I've made, deciding to say "I do" in front of my family with him is the best one.

The best marriage proposal that I have heard of so far was one that my uncles wife did. She actually proposed to him. They live in Myrtle Beach SC and came to my mothers house in NC to visit on his birthday. Well while he was visiting with my mom she went back to the hotel and put candy kisses on the floor in a trail to the hot tub and wrote in his birthday card "Now that I kissed the ground you walk on will you marry me?" I thought that was the sweetest and most creative one that I had heard of yet.
