or a guy only after being together for a few months. I'm getting married in July. I met this girl on july 2006. My aunts and friends always ask/said "isn't it too early?"
what do you think?
I used to go out with a girl for 6 years, we broke up. Some relationships only last for few months.
Another advise I have from a friend is; marriage is like jackpot, either you hit it or you don't. What he meant was that, if you're lucky, you're sure to be able to understand each other and tolerate. if not, you'll end up being separated.
Is that true? what do you think?

People have married after shorter periods of time and made it last but they are the exception and not the rule. I think those couples have to work a lot harder to maintain a healthy relationship.
It takes so long to REALLY get to know someone. The first year is always the best... it's fresh and new. In the first year, you are smitten by them and get that funny feeling in your tummy merely by thinking of them. The thing is, you don't know what makes them tick or ticked off, for that matter. You haven't seen their very worst in a couple of months because they are still trying to impress you.
I think that if you can get through the second year without arguing over petty stuff, after learning more about the person (taking the good with the bad) and still love them regardless of their faults and especially if you still get that 'funny feeling' when you think of them or see them... your chances for a strong healthy relationship will be better.
Personally, I always advise that you become friends first. Positive qualities that we seek in a friend are also some of the best attributes in a life partner. Time doesn't really determine compatibility but it gives people a chance to get to know someone on a deeper level.
