Well, our parents usually get us stuff we need and in some lucky cases stuff we want, but that doesn't really give you the satisfaction of enjoying something you bought with your own money, does it? Well, not in all cases, but sometimes you're so glad that your favorite thing is something you bought for yourself on your own, with your own hard-earned money.
For me, it has to be my beloved ps2, I got a good deal for it and it was actually used, not brand new, but now that I think about it, I don't know what I would've done without it. I have over 80 games, and I've had a great time and learned so much, and I am most proud of this purchase of mine, and the best thing is that I bought it all on my own, there's a certain satisfaction that comes with that.
So, what is the best thing, according to you, that you bought with your own money?

Has to be my house. I was only 17 when my ex and I bought it. It was the best decision we ever made. My kids were born and raised there. I love this house it is very special to me.

I must admit, I usually save for all the things that I have..my first laptop was about £1,000 and was one of the biggest things I bought.
I have also bought a friend a car, which really made his day and he said it was one of the best gifts he had ever got.

I'm one of those people who likes things with all the bells and whistles...it is a great sense of achievement when I get something.
As for the car, well, he has been helping me out so much it felt like the least I could do for him.

The best thing I bought with my own money was a gift for my mom, actually there was a great deal of satisfaction knowing I earned the money to pay for gifts for her, when I was a kid we had christmas clubs, but basically that was mom putting in money for us to be able to use at christmas.
For mother's day one year we got my mom new carpet, and new living room furniture as a surprise. I paid for it. She was very happy with it, it was something she wanted but wouldn't have spent the money on, would have either saved the money for bills, or for a savings for emergencies if she had the money for it herself.
Since she didn't I bought it. I was 17 had been working for a while so I had saved up, my sister was a year old had been working for a while as well.
Between us we were able to get her Mom's day/birthday gift that meant a lot to her, but she wouldn't have gotten for herself.

yeah it is a good idea for birthdays or any time of year when you may have special occassions, I know of someone who does this for saving for the family reunion trips. They just keep a specific savings account, one with a mac card that is not activated and not tied to the checking account so that they don't have easy access to withdraw the money.
But when those special occassions come up, then you can just make plans to make your withdrawal.

yup. computer parts for upgrades are really expensive. but after paying for the bills, you'll surely feel good about it and happy where your money went to.

It was this cellphone that was the latest at that time. But eventually, it was stolen from me so I couldn't cry hard enough huh. Although I had the chance to get it back, it was never the same cellphone for me again...I had to sell it. Aside from that, I don't have any other thing that I've bought, except for the shoes and the bags and the shirts, 'cause I pay the rent and all the other bills in our apartment so the rest would definitely be for the foods and other stuff. =)

The very first time I had earned money was when I was in 11th class. It was a 4 day work and I got 1600 rupees for that.So I thought that the best way to use this money was to buy something for my parents instead of something for myself. So I bought a "sari"(indian dress) for my mom for her birthday. She wanted me to save that money for myself so she got upset within, but at the same time I could see that she was very happy that I bought a sari for her.It made her feel special and that is what gave me satisfaction. So I think that was the best way I spent my money so far.

Well I've had the dough with me now and then and there have been times when i was broke. So monetarily i've faced both sides of the whether.btw the ps2 is a great choice. Is it a ps2 portable or the regular one? There is this 50 cent game for ps2,if you get a chance try to get it.
The best and the first thing that i bought off my cash is a dress for my mommy.I had got this cash from doing a voice over for a kids educational CD ROM.I did the main voice over for it.Thats the thing that got me famous around my hood. She loved it and still wears it.I'm proud of whatever i did.

for me, i think the best thing that i've ever bought with my own money is my Sony Ericsson W550i mobile phone. I bought the phones last year after i've changed my old sony ericsson that my parent bought for me. I've used all my part-time job money that i've got for buying the new mobile phone. Hopefully next thing will be a guitar or PS3.

Well for me it would either be the 2 computers, the well everything. I have bought all the furniture, the computers, the stereo, the tv, the beds, the compic books that I collect, the beads that I make things out of, everything. I don't know which is my best one. I think it may be the bycycle that I bought. Not only does it get me from home to work all the time but it keeps me fit and I need to keep fit for my job.

that's great for you!
as for me, when i was still working, i was able to buy a 21 inch television and a DVD player. i saved my money just to buy the set for my mom since the old tv was already slowly getting out of "tune".
and i am so happy i bought it. i did not only make myself proud of it but i made my mom happy... really happy about it. up to now, it's what we use at home and it really makes me smile a bit whenever i see the set inside our living room. i hope i can buy more things for my mom next time.
happy myLotting!

The best thing I bought with my hard earned money is my favorite book entitled "How to become Rich" by David King. Because of this I changed my worldly definition of getting rich. Just what David said in the book that becoming rich is a noble goal that is if you consider it as a means to a greater end. As I reflected back I realized , YES, even if you have no money you can be noble by extending your arms to help the needy ones. But a more opportunity will be if you have a financial capability to help others.
