Are we sinners really?

Are we sinners really? Whenever I read John Milton's Paradise Lost, I feel lot of sympathy for the leadership qualities of Satan. Satan might not have really existed, just as God did not exist particularly in that vindictive cruel form of condemning people to hell. The God who created the hell must be a fellow more cruel than the sinner.
The word "sin" is an extremely strong word, often used in exaggeration. We often commit mistakes or some omissions some of which may be really serious. But, yet, will they be sins?
When the God himself is vindictive, keen on condemning people to hell, why should he again be born on earth, and pretend to be laying down his life for the sake of sinners?
I think religion has large gaps in its narration, which it cannot explain.

There is no perfect being, the only perfect thing is God, so we must all sin even if only just a little bit. The key is to try hard not to sin, and to do our best as humans. If we have truly done our best, then God will always forgive us, and there will be nothing to worry about.
