why is it that the heart can overrule the head but the head never gainsays...

the heart. The heart will cause you to discard your better judgement, will overule common sense, and even intellect cannot stand in the face of love. However there is also no convincing yourself to stop loving someone even after they have been cruel and hagteful to you. The heart just has to be made to give it up over time but the head has no power over when or how.

I don't know what makes it happen but I wish I did for my friends sake. I think some people can convince themselves to get out of a relationship and stop loving someone but most people it takes a long time even after they treat you horribly.

I don't know the right answer to your queston but what I do know is from my point of vew this is what is really required. I mean mind do make better judgements(no doubt about it) but that are only for one's own self and that's where the feeling of selfishness creeps in, while heart never think that way and that's good. Don't you think so.
