Hi gabs dear, I'm not much into Ebay and I have heard a lot of complaints going on about Ebay scams. I do hope people will be more aware and wiser to check on all the emails they are receiving. Thanks for sharing this one. This certainly can bring to attention to a lot of the users here.

thank you for letting us know lil sis. its really dangerous these times to open emails like this one. they try to receive your password or place a keylogger on your comp. the same its with the yahoo and paypal emails. they never send emails like this one, but there are always some who try to place this crap on your computer. and sad but true, lots of people do believe and open the links.

That is a very good point. A lot of people do use ebay, and there are a lot of scammers out there. I just thought that i would also add another warning on top of this. If you are a seller, and you sell an item, but then recieve an email from the paypal stating that the money has been removed from their account and will only be added once a tracking number has been provided by you. This is a total scam, you should not post an item without first recieving payment. The email is made to look just like a paypal email, but please be warned, it is a scam.

Good for you posting this Gabs, when I had just started here on My Lot I got a dodgy email from Pay Pal ( you might remember my discussion) well!! If I hadn't been a member on here I don't think I would have been suspicious of it , I am not with EBay , but this just proves that there are a lot of dodgy people out there , I am glad you realised it wasn't genuine pal xxxxx

thank you for the advice my friend. I havent had the scam mail from E.bay but i have had one from pay pal, the link just sends you to a site wanting your bank details. I think the more details that are known about such scams, the more people that are made aware of them, the more we are defended against them
blessed be

My grandfather got one as well and asked me about it. I told him to look in his My ebay area for his messages and any messages ebay sends him will be listed there as well. He did not see any and so we deleted and blocked the sender of this spoof email. I did not know about Spoof at ebay but I definitely will use it from now on if we get any more. Thanks for the warning!

Thanks for the warning gabs. I am also receiving ones asking me if I take PayPal and also asking the cost of shippping to different countries. I get others accusing me of not paying for auctions and telling me they will report me. I haven't had anything to do with eBay for years now so they are all scams.

I got them too as well as my account is going to be closed at banks I do not even have an account with. Yes send them on to spoof@ebay or where ever there is a real organization for the fake email.

Thanks I have been tricked before someone got under my old ebay account and was selling items underneath my name. The only way I found out was be receving emails about the items that whoever was doing this was selling. I mean for stuff like cars, cellphone. It made my account go over 100.00 I was so mad. i was glad ebay backed me up and saw that it wasn't my fault.

Thanks you gabs. I have not received any yet. Perhaps I am a no-no on the spammer list as I raised such a stink the last time I got one LOL

I was getting spoof emails, once a day for months a couple of years ago. The email said my account was in jeopardy and I should send my account details etc in a reply email. It had the eBay logo and everything. I imagine several people would get caught out in spite of all warnings not to respond to anything asking to send or confirm your private deatails.
