I read my first Alexander Dumas book when I was 10 years old. It was The Three Musketeers and I still have the copy of it. Altough I seldom read his books nowadays, this was one of the authors who played an important part in getting me hooked into reading at an early age. I used to especially love the stress he displayed on the points of honor and loyalty. A truly great and inspiring author.

Wow I'm impressed, Dumas is quite heavy reading when you are 10... Did you read the entire novel?

Believe me, it was not easy even though it was an abridged version. I think I took nearly a month to finish it. I only managed because I really enjoyed the book. Besides, I was a real bookworm at that age. I spent most of my time reading than playing.

Oh yes, I simply love the Count of Monte Cristo. After reading this book, I fell in love with it. It is now officially on my list of favorite books. I haven't read his other works though since I don't quite like the synopsis.

Yup, I know a little about him but. An I've read and watched the movie versions of several of his novels. "The Three Muskeeters" (Athos, Porthos and Aramis), "The Man in the Iron Mask" (which the story line is somewhat related to "The Three Muskeeters"). About the "The Count of Monte Cristo", I only watched the movie.

His first book that I read was The Count of Monte Cristo and I really like it. It's probably one of the best book ever written in those old days. I like it way more than some of the so-called "classics". I actually read "The Three Musketeers" after reading "The Count of Monte Cristo" although I heard and watched the movie "The Three Musketeers" before. I really like this author because of his writing style and the clever plot he set out. And The Count of Monte Cristo has a sequel? Wow! I guess I have to do some research and find it. (And the movies ruined it!)
