Do you think taking courses online is a good way to earn degrees? I am thinking about taking a graphics and web design course and i just wondered if there were any online schools that were better than others?

I don't have experience with any other online schools than the one I am currently attending, Kaplan University. What I would suggest is do your research and talk to a few different people. This is a good place to start, but check websites and do yourself due diligence in finding out all the info you need. For me, Kaplan is awesome. They are nationally accredited and provide me the exact program that I wanted to take (Comm. with an emphasis in technical writing.) But I dunno about other schools, so I can only go by what I do know. Good luck in your search!

Kaplan University IS a great school. I am attending as well. I am about to wrap up this semester and get my 12 day break! I have learned a lot throughout this semester and I am so looking forward to the next!! I am taking MA classes and I will be starting my clinicals in about 6 more semesters. I am very excited and they are VERY helpful. The professors are awesome and lenient. I had a major family emergency and I wasn't deducted late points on my assignments. It is awesome! I set my own schedule for class time and the students are all awesome. Typically, the class starts with around 20 students, but a lot of them drop out of just don't show up. So in the end about 10-12 students are in the class. It is great. GOOD LUCK!

Some of the students who do not attended the seminars do their work by completing other tasks. It is a lot of fun at the seminars. The professors give us time to get to know each other or to have a virtual food fight. Were you at the food fight we had in the Med Law and Ethics seminar? The professor joined in when the pizza went flying across the classroom.

I am attending Kaplan University. I am studying Medical Transcription. It is a lot of fun. It is a different learning environment. I checked out 168 online schools. Kaplan is the cream of the crop. It offers accreditation, degree's rather than diploma's, and a real graduation ceremony. You are just going to love it.

WOW I didn't think I would get another response on this one LOL I have since gone with MacTech Distance Education and I am tellin ya I have never had a better experience. I am in my second year in Graphic Design. Anytime people choose to go to school online they have to make sure it is right for them and macTech is definitely the best for me.

You also want to make sure the school is accredited. Then if you attend a different school later, your credits will transfer. I had 22 credits transfer from one college to my current program at Kaplan University. That means 22 credits I don't have to repeat or take again. This saves me money on tuition and books. Good luck in your future.
