Isn't is obvious from the weather we are seeing at this time of the that the global warming is taking its toll. I am a science graduate and am interested in topics as this. I am into agriculture and more into molecular and biological sciences. Keep ur posts coming...............

Yes, but not just co2. Co2 is one of the few gases that cause this. They are called green house gases which protect earths atmosphere...when their amount increases......causes warming up of earths atmosphere....

I agree, in my country we are facing changing in the weather mood, the winter delayed this year and the summer postponed, and Increase in the total average of the temperature, I think the global warming is the cause.

we can blame it to some extent. Although it takes time to see full effects, these are just the alerts.

Hi, although i am not into either (i am a history freak) i happen to agree with you...have you ever read silent spring by rachel carson? she hit the nail on the head and was way ahead of her time (unfortunately - too bad she didnt start that years earlier!)

Yes, u r right. Carlson's silent spring was a great work. I know that book as I am an entomologist who deals with pesticides and we all know that silence was due to increased use of pesticides. This discussion about global warming is not gognna make any diff, but just might get the word to otherswho really think that global warming is not a real threat. I appreciate ur comment on this. All countries, actuall industrial contries are a big time contributers.

Do u have any idea what global warming is andd how it affects. Snow and rain all are the results in climatic changes which is greatly caused by global weather.

Good discussion. I think that global warming runs 20% on fact, and 80% on opinions. I hear every different side of the story on the news, and the radio all the time. The answer to me is, I don't think they have a clue. If you watched the movie "An Inconvient Truth", they showed graphs that looked like the world was warming due to co2 emissions, etc, but they showed the graph over a huge time period. Yet if they break it down to a smaller length of time, they can see that they aren't directly related. Also, co2 emissions increase when the weather gets warmer...Not the other way around like they are trying to say. On the other hand, temperatures have increased over the last several thousand years. I like it when people have opinions on a subject, even on the news, but I don't like it when they have opinions to try and sell something. Sometimes I think the global warming guys are trying to sell a new type of motor, or new technology while they do it. I believe that the idea that they will make more money persuades them to react, and present the facts in a skewed manner...Thinking about the reward on the end. I agree with some of the later discussions about different weather patterns...It colder now, or it's warmer now. In my opinion that is simply the natural progression of our planet. Much like the continental drift theory, etc...In fact, they found a fossilized palm tree in Antarctica. Bottom line is, things are always changing. I don't think we have as much to do with it as they would like us to believe. Does that mean we run out and burn all of our styrofoam cups??? Absolutely not...but let's help the environment for more reasons than simply global warming. Good thread.

I totally agree with what u just said. Scientists say that they have strong evidence and there are people who try to make an impact for reasons like u mentioned, gains. However, there are many sincere scientists who make all the decisions, however, the news we hear thru media is made by big guys.who may not be the real brains. I myself am a scientist.....ofcourse not global warming, but agriculture. We already have lost some crops before they even started this year due to this cold conditions caused by somestrange weather pattern....we may not be able to do anything individually or in a grp, but I am just raising my opinion. Things are under control now to some extent....and hope it continues.

Obvious to who? maybe depends where youre at, but I'm still turning my heat on, I saw snow a few weeks ago, and normally this time of year I'd be pulling out the summer clothes. not quite feeling like global warming here.

Thats what global warming is.........u will have cold effects instead of summer. Ans its not one place where its obvious....its global and u can see its already there in US, India, Asia in general and AUS too.
