What is the cause, in your opinion, of all this violence lately?

I agree..If it was for media these people would not get the attention they want so badly..and movies..definitely put ideas in other people's minds..

I think it is a rare occurence when a movie gives people the idea to go out and commit a violent act. It only seems to be people that have a mental illness to begin with that is effected by what they see on the big screen. My whole life I have loved gory, violent horror movies, yet I am not a violent person, do you think the majority of people that commit violent acts because of a movie, etc...were troubled to begin with? In most scenarios these criminals have left all sorts of clues that something was not right with them, we as a society are just ignorant of the signs.

I have to agree with soccermom on this one. I too grew up on horror movies and the like and am in no way a voilent person. I also think that sensorship (yes, I hate the thought of it sometimes too) for the media would not be so bad after all.

Ya know i have put alot of thought in to this lately,because i have been thinkign the same thing,I think for school kids..ithink kids are menaer the hell..way worse than they were when we were little..i bet most of us have no idea what they are going threw now,,because i know they have way more crap they have to go threw,,kids are just cruel and hateful now,,and i wil tell you what, i had it so very bad growing up..until i was 17 and found myself.,,i wanted to kill them..i mean i was a good kid,far away from being a hateful person of any sort..but i cried myself to sleep many times,,and i also tried suicied att age 10..yeras old..now i look back at what i went threw and these kids now,i can see someone snapping out,,I am IN NOO WAYY CONDONEING it..or making an excuse..but i can see how some kids can just snap..its a sad ..sad world..

I think you are right. Many times it does stem as far back as childhood difficulties and hardships.
