The shortest job you've ever had...

What kind of job was it? And what was the reason for it being so short? When I mean short, I mean less than a year. Less than a Vegas wedding if possible. Can anyone beat me for having the shortest job? XD
Haaaa...
I was accepted on call at a public library after passing their crazy Dewey Decimal Test. The only thing was they never told me they needed me all year, I had to leave to go to school in another state three weeks after I got the job (and I applied for that position three months in advance, too). They made it clear that I am free to leave whenever even though they really needed people. I ended up causing a chain reaction of upset library workers. I didn't even work on my first day. Instead, I got paid to sit through orientation for an hour and thirty minutes.

I worked at a call center for 2 hours, realized it wasen't for me and got up and left. I don't like pestering people, I just couldn't get the hang of it.

The world needs more people like you so there would be way less calling centers =D
I hope you found a better job!

I worked like a dog to get a coveted position at a large computer software company in Manhattan. Finally, I got the word that they hired me and I was beyond joyous...until I started the job. The first few days I was there, I had no desk. Then I had to arrange a trip for my boss with all the details. After I spent hours on the phone, he tells me to cancel the trip..he's not going. Also, everyone in the company was stabbing everyone else in the back. I think I lasted three weeks. I called my old boss and he missed me so much, he gave me full medical benefits, which was the reason I left in the first place.

Wow, that's really terrible...at least you got medical benefits in the end!
Do you think there are websites out there that rate companies in the U.S? I know they have rating sites for school teachers and hotels. That would be pretty cool, especially if a lot of people knew about it so there would be plenty of feedback/ratings for most jobs before you apply. Ah well :)

I had a shortest job when I was in 11th grade. I was tutor of a child who has exam at head and whose original tutor (who had been my tutor) too had some other urgent work. And his result was very good in that term. I did not let my tutor's student perform bad.

I was living on my own and going to college at 17, so I needed a job quickly. I was accepted on at a telemarketing firm because they'll hire anyone who can read and who has good grammar. I worked there a week and a half. When the customer first said no, I never had the heart to push the sale, and I also got tired of being cursed at over the phone.
