i would say a book filled with colorful pictures, and a touch book wherein the pictures are embossed and made of felt paper. i was about to say, buy her a costume dress, but you mentioned cinderella dress. i think that's what my niece enjoyed most on her 2nd bday, the colorful pictures...oh, and some bubbles!

a play kitchen at this age is a great idea, as she gets older, she will pretend there for hours. Also, My son who is almost three, loves to finger paint, he just loves to get it all over himself and try to make something out of it. That might be fun for the party as well, I don't know how warm it will be, but they could paint and then run through the sprinklers if it is warm enough. Kids this age also enjoy books, simple puzzles, play dough, bubbles, Little bikes that they can use, wagons etc. Happy birthday to your little girl!

I remember when my daughter was little, it didn't really matter what the present was as long as it came in a big box, she played with the box and not the present..lol..Mine is 8 now and well she just wants everything under the sun, I can't keep up with it anymore. I agree about the kitchen set, kids love to pretend they are making food, you can get a little kids shopping cart for pretty cheap and they will play with it for hours. And I am sure no matter what you get her she will be happy with it. on my daughter's birthday we played games also and she just got really upset when she didn't win any prizes, I tried to explain to her that it was her birthday and she had all the presents, still didn't matter. I think the party will be great , don't worry too much about it, the kids will probably have more fun running around and playing with each other more than anything. You might want to pick up some ear plugs, just a tip..lol
