Im currently in grade 11 and my boyfriend is in grade 12 and hes going to college after summer. We have been dating a year and plan on staying together until i go to college with him. I love him to death but i do worry. I have heard of some couples breaking up becuase they want to enjoy the "experience" Whether it be partying, meeting new people or DATING new people. What do you all think about that? Can relatinships survive if one partner is in higschool while the other is in college. Do you think not being around eachtoher as much as before will ruin/strain the relationship?

My boyfriend was gone once for 7 months for work. It was really hard, we talked on the phone everyday and seen each other every seven weeks or so for a few days. We got through it though.here is a quote I like Distance does for love what the wind does for a flame. It extinguishes the weak and feeds the strong.

Well im glad things worked out for you. He wont be far away so I will probably be able to see him once every week or 2 weeks. It just kinda feels like hell be going on with his life and i just wish i was there for him while it happened.

It is certainly possible that your relationship will last, but it is true that most high school/college relationships do end in that first year. But it is more a product of all the changes and maturing that you go through at that age. Even if you were not seperated, there would be a fair chance you would break up anyway. Not to be a downer, though, there is still a fair chance you will make it despite all this.
