Keeping focused is it hard for you to day? =)

How easy is it for you to keep focused the important things in life instead of being d-railed, then lose track which you want to be on? For me I've always had a slight issue with this, maybe saying slight is a understatement and that's probably true. I know it's hard for the focus on things at times, especially people keep chipping away at you. I guess I'm more in the middle myself, because when I am happy I do keep very focused and when things slowly start to get me down I do a complete reversal. How about you? ~Joey

There are times where I do have a difficult time staying focused. Sometimes my mind drifts off, especially when I am either bored or very busy. I start thinking about other things. I do try and to keep focused on things that are very important like my work and my family and my home. At the end of the week it seems, I find myself not being able to focus as much as earlier in the week. It may be due to being tired or just looking forward to the weekend.

Me, I set my priorities straight. Always ask myself before I do anything else, which is important and which is not? I analyze the situation I am in and what needs to be done soon. It all ends well so far.

I'm very happy to hear this prettiemammie =) I've always tried to remain focused, normally all it takes is to re-value things but so much haunts me that I slip. Maybe I'm just crazy, or need professional help lol Thanks for the response, it means a great deal to me! ~Joey

My main focus is currently on getting a job! I am so focused that it is taking up a lot of my time. I am forever on the phone ringing up about getting application forms, enquiring about jobs, and spending hours and hours when not on Mylot filling out damn application forms, doesn't get any easier! It's keeping me occupied at least, I should get a career in writing application forms and attending countless interviews!

For me it's usually easy to stay focused even/ or more so when things are a bit to the down side. Truth be said, I have derailed a few times in my life but those were very extreme situations, and very personal ones. But in general focusing is not the problem even when things are not the happiest.

Hey Joey :-) Since I have two part time jobs, plus a house and family to take care of, i have to keep pretty focused. I usually lay in bed at night thinking of what i need to do the next day, what i am planning to wear etc... i make the girls lunches the night before (they are 10 and 14) and do housework and stuff on the weekends...my hubby and i split chores (he does all the cooking, kids do the cleaning up and i do all laundry related stuff)...everyone helps with the house cleaning...this system seems to work quite well.....i know, i am rambling lol cheers, cher

i am mostly a focused person. i know what to do and i know what things should be done. i plan things ahead of time and mostly, i end up doing things right as planned. however, there are times when i feel i am sidetracked. i feel lost and i have doubts on some plans i've made. and still, after realizing that i am a bit lost and out of focus, i get back to reality. i find ways to focus again on what is important. and gladly, i can easily correct things again. it's just natural for us to be lost. we're not perfect after all. the important thing is, we know when to return back to track. happy myLotting!

YES..!!! keeping focused is a real BIG deal for me out there. I get distarcted very very easily..!! I am suffering a lot because of this. As being a student its most needy thing to have, and I am lacking the same. I don't know how to overcome this..!! But its not because of todays life and surrounding but because of me myself!! I just can not concentrate on thing..!!I can entertain me by anything..!!So you don't need to get me a BIG TV or something like that to distarct me..!

I'm pretty obsessive about some things, and downright indifferent about others. I've figured out that the stuff I love is what matters, and the things I really can't care about are the things I find hard to focus on. Generally I kick myself hard enough to get what needs doing done, even when I don't give a damn about it. As for people chipping away, chip back, if necessary. If things are getting you down, you will, at some point, need to do something about them. One good move is avoidance, if possible. You learn what to avoid, anyway, so practice. If you can't avoid, neutralize them, so they have minimal impact. One useful trick, if you can do it, is to delegate the nuisance to someone else, preferably someone else who's annoying, or obstructive. I know that's not easy to do in some cases, particularly in the workplace, but it beats doing nothing and just taking the flak. It's hard to focus, if you never get a chance to do it. I've found it's best to create those chances rather than hoping they'll happen.

It's not really a problem for me I have to say. I am a pretty channelled, focused person - if I set my mind to something I tend to go straight ahead and do it without letting things distract me. Some may say it is my Taurean astrologial sign - stubborn and obstinate!! I don't let things get me down and I don't get side-tracked.

I have always focused on everything i do. But everytime i feel frustrated and disappointed,i get mess around just to bear what i feel.I didnt noticed that i becoming a failure on the things what i need to do.But lately, i realized how much time and oppurtunity that i missed and lost just because of this kind of attitude. So, i tried to console myself and stay focused on everything no matter how i feel.Good or bad!!!

Oh my friend, I'm facing one of this day when I'm losing my focus and perception. Seems like I'm feeling a little bit down for the last few days. Somehow, it affected my desire to stay at mylot. I'm spending less time here but I owed all my friends at mylot, including you, who never failed to support me. I guess I needed to take a break and hike off somewhere where I can re-focus and reflect on my life quietly. I have this special place which is a 3 hours drive from my house. The place is a beauty. Having said this, I definitely need to go there.

I have a little game I play with myself. It is all about compromise. I tell myself if I do A for a certain amount of time, then it is fine to get derailed by B later. It keeps me very focused on A so that I don't have to feel gulty about B. It works for me!

I don't focus too much because if I do, I see all that I have to do and it brings me down. I just do it one piece at a time. I just don't think about the mountain of things that I have to do, instead I think about the stuff I got done and the sense of accomplishment I feel from it.

Joey this is the time to have tunnel vision, that is to see your goal and see it through. Forget about what other say, if you need to do something for yourself then do it. In the end you are the one who is going to fail or succeed at what you had to do. Nobody else will share in it because they are out doing the goals that they have to do to succeed. I will give you an example, you need to do a job that will pay you a lot of money and you really really want it. You have an appointment with the boss at three o'clock that day. A friend of you asks you to go help him fix his car. He needs help to fix it, but if you go you will be late for the interview. So you nice guy can't say know to your friend, and you work on the car, you haven't even fixed it but you rush like hell to get to the interview, you loose the job, because the boss says you are not punctual and he cannot tolerate that. You lost your income, your friend calls you the next day and says, hey Joey, I called johnny and he and I fixed the problem isn't that great. Well hell, why didn't he call Johnny in the first place you might have had that job you needed, instead he has a good running car and you have nothing. Do you see what I mean, stick to your own goals and don't let anybody distract you.

Being diverted by many things i am unable to focus on one thing. Since i am going through a bad phase now its difficult for me to concentrate on any single issue. It absolutely depends on my mood. When i am in good mood i can be very much focused on a task irrespective of its difficulty. When i am off beat i will just fiddle with all the tasks and off course i never mess up things.

It it really hard to keep focused on sth for a long time... I guess many people have this kind of problem~ I mean the the beginning can be good anyway, 'cuz we have so much anticipation for the future, but as time passes by,things will change little bit,u may feel u are not that ambitious as before...and the more u feel like this, the more u turn to unfocused... just like a vicious circle... but right now,I am trying to be aware of everything around me,and just focus as much as possible ...
