My husband was diagnosed with Type II diabetes and is 35 yrs old. He is on Actos and Metformin 2x's per day. We are working on regulating his sugars so that he can eventually ween himself off of the meds through loosing weight and excersising. Don't take my for it as I am not a doctor - but I have read that cinnamin can help lower blood sugars... my father takes a cinnamin supplement everyday. Maybe talk to your Dr about it or look it up online. Also something else i have learned from my dad and my husband- its VERY important to test your blood in the morning and 2 hrs after dinner so that you can regulate your food intake as need...

Does glaucoma maybe run in your family? Maybe that might be a factor, too. I am sure there are all kinds of websites that discuss glaucoma, maybe you could look on the internet. Good luck to you!

Hey there...........I am a 47 yr old with Type 2 as well. I was diagnosed in 1992 and was on Metformin 5 pills a day untill this year when I added a nightly shot of insulin ( night time only) It can effect everyone differently and your body may react differently than someone elses. I assure your doing nothing wrong but keep in touch with your doctor and he can advise you on other things to do as well. Exersise can be a factor as well.
Your eyes may be a weak spot in your case but there are suppliments you can take. They will NOT cure but will help slow it down. Go 1 day at a time and live life to the fullest
