Hey gals! have you tried biking when you have a menstruation? is it ok to do biking when you have your monthly period? I have tried it yesterday because i have no choice, i have a very important thing to follow up and i dont like walking because its very hot outside and im in a hurry. So i did it but im worry does it affect us? Is it harm for us riding a bike when we have monthly period? Old folks always told it is not good? is it true? Im really bothered. Pls enlighten my mind. Thanks.

Hi, No I have never been biking when I had my menstruation. I think that it would all depend on how badly that you had them, and if you were in pain as every woman is different. No biking would not affect you I am quite sure that a lot of women do ride their bikes when they have their monthly periods. Oh no you never believe old wives tales any more as do you know that they used to say that you do not have a shower at this time and so all the woman would be smelly don't you think. So I do hope that this has enlighten your mind.

Honestly, I do not think there is any problem to do it when you are having menstuation, although we tend to take more rest when we have menstruation, but we still do everything that we do normally, basically nothing have been changed,we may be a bit uncomfortable when we are doing exercise but it is fine to ride a bike.no worry

I don't bike alot but I don't see any reason not to because you are having your period. That's one thing I've never heard from old folks before.

I rode bikes, I rode horses. It doesn't hurt you, its all inside after all. Might actually help it ed a bit sooner that's all.
Heck, when I was younger, if I didn't ride horses, I wasn't regular - and at that it was closer to 36-40 days then the so called "normal" of 28 days. Never got sooner than 30 & the few times it did come sooner, there were medical problems - and those only came after I was well into my 40's.

It's FINE! You can do anything during your period that you normally do. The exception is inverted postures in yoga, you shouldn't do those. But exercise is one of the best things TO DO during menstruation. Exercise causes your body to emit endorphins, which are natural pain killers, and they will reduce CRAMPS! SO exercise is even better for you then.
Please do not listen to people who think that menstruation cripples you. It doens't, and should NEVER EVER stop you from being an active woman. Those are ancient and stupid philosophies. GO out there and do what you want! anD YES, I ridemy bike during my period. I even rode a 150 mile RACE once during my period. I've played all sorts of sports, and it doesn't hurt me, it helps me.

erm..i'm not a girl.. but i do know a little about menstruation. .i read and i asked girls before.. i think it actually depends how serious is your period.. i have a friend which she complained to me that everytime during menstruation.. she will have pain her in abdomen i think.. if that's the case.. it's certainly not advisable... why didn't you ask the doctor instead? and .. can you explain how does it affect? i know this is not suppose to be a boy discussion.. but.. even a doctor has the right to know what's happening... i need to gain more knowledge so i know how to treat my girlfriend next time.. thanks for info =)

I dont see any problem in riding a bike when you have your period. Actually if you suffer from cramps like I use to. This will help ease them. You see exercise is supposet to help. And dont listen to what the old folks say they are only old wives tales.

Actually Cheenlly, bike riding is good exercise anytime. During your menses it can be very beneficial. The exercise helps to relieve cramping and bloating by increasing circulation to the area while being outside in fresh air is just plain good for you. Basically, you can do anything during your menses that you would normally do. Just remember basic hygiene and you'll be okay.

Don't worry girls
Note : You still can swim in your monthly period

Hi cheenlly! :) I always go to biking even when I had my menstrual period, and there were no side effects. I was a varsity player for 5 years and usually, I had my menstrual period during every game. I still play and go on with the competition.
I think it depends on the woman herself. If there will be complications on her part when she does things when she has her menstrual period, then it's better to leave it at that. It's better to be safe.
Take care and God bless! \(",)_
