I was just let go from another one of those Companies that are moving to the other Countries due to cheaper labor.
I understand that the Company needs to make a profit and look for more cost-saving ways. Honestly, I would work for less if I could afford to live comfortably.
I actually attended a Plant meeting where the Operations Manager explained that beyond our wages was the cost of out benefits, which were costing the Company an additional $18.00 an hour per employee. Now I didn't realize how much my Company was actually paying, but I have come to the conclusion that at those rates every company will be leaving for cheaper labor else where.
Some of the quotes that the Operational Manager gave along with the cost of paying us, was the difference in pay in another Country. The Company only had to pay wages of $3.00 per hour (ours: $8.00 and above), and with no benefits.
So here I am, unemployed, again, and looking for a complete career change. I am going to try and make some money at home, online. Wish me luck!

I feel your pain,i too have three jobs in the last two due to the company moving in favor of cheaper labor. While i understand these companies have to make money i think there should be some kind penalty for making such a move. At the last job i lost this way they asked me in the interview what i expected from the company. So i said ihoped that they wouldn't ship out in favor of cheaper labor in another country, and they replied that something would never happen. But just a short six months later we our walking papers because they were moving the operation to mexico i belive they said.

I am sorry to hear that you got let go and by a company that is sending their jobs overseas. I think it is terrible how cheap this companies have become and obviously they do not care or think about our own people. To the companies it is all about money as they do not care about the well being of our own people. I left a company just before they laid people off for the same reasons. Hopefully you will get a severance pay for a short while at least while you search for a new job. Working at home sounds like a good idea and many other people might do the same thing.
