It is pouring here at the moment and we need it all over the country badly, so hopefully it is getting to the much needed areas, especially the farmers. We have had a bad drought that needs to be lifted and very soon!
What is the weather like where you are, and is there a concern about it?

Half your luck caramello, and I am certain that most of the rest of Australia will be green with envy, more so the farmers. It did try to rain here today, most of the day too, and despite being a very overcase day, there were only about 6 drops of rain. That was not enough to settle the dust unfortunately, but maybe tomorrow we will finally get some rain.
They have been desperate for rain here for many months now, and we expecting that they would get very little irrigation water for next season, unless it rained very soon. However, the Government announced on Friday that there would be no water from the Murray/Darling River system next year unless there was a substantial amount of rain in the coming few weeks. This was not really unexpected but at the same time they are now concerned that they will still have to pay the State Government for their water, which they will got get. One thing many people do not realise is that farmers pay for their full water right/entitlement, whether or not they get water. Now with no water for next season, most of them will have little or no income.
So, caramello, I am pleased that you do have some rain where you are, also hoping that it is reaching the farms around your area and finally hope that it becomes more widespread for all the farmers as well as in the catchment areas.

As I appreciate the rain ossie, it is the ones who most need it I am hoping will receive it as it has affected so many people who rely on it so much. The farmers do it tough in more ways than one and you can see the results around where we live. Would you say the restrictions could have been in place a lot earlier as this has been going on for some time and myself as the "little man" (so to speak) have thought this and could not understand why it was not full on when one could really see this coming. As a true blue Aussie, ossie, lol, I wish this for all to share as seeing around us is not a pleasant sight. When you used to drive around it used to be that all the cows and sheep, their heads were down and their mouths were chewing, now they just seem to be lying around waiting for the bails of hay to arrive. Some may not even notice this, and I guess I should be watching the road, but my interests are what is going on around me!

Rain, rain and more rain, we are not going to be permitted to wash our cars, even by bucket, or water our gardens, fill swimming pools and the farmers have been cut off their irrigation access!! It could almost rain for 40 days and 40 nights...well maybe not lol.. but heaps more anyway!

Well we had a little rain over the last two days but definately not drought breaking stuff. Even in Tasmania which is usually so green, it is starting to look a little brown and they are worrying about water level being low for the hydro power stations.

I agree tammyr as it has been too long for us without it and it appears to have affected far too much! The perfect day for me would be nice during the day and raining all night! One can only wish! lol

Honestly, I hate the rain. We get so much of it in BC and so as soon as the sun appears, we all head out and make the most of it LOL. Summers are always very dry though and so there's a huge risk of wildfires and forest fires every year. Last year we suffered major fires right till the back end of fall and into winter. It was horrific.
As of now though, the sun is showing itself, and it's getting warmer. The only concern with that is that the snowpack is going to start melting at a faster rate than the rivers can deal with it and there are major concerns over flooding.
Many parts of the Lower Mainland are at risk of floods and there are very few prevention measures in place so far. I fear that many people are going to be misplaced when their homes are flooded. As awful as this sounds, it makes me glad that we live in an area NOT at risk.

We have had nice steady rain as well, and definitely need it.
The only problem is that I wash the majority of my clothes on the weekends, (before hanging them up with the same colour pegs of course), and so they are on the line gettin an extra rinse.
If it continues for too much longer, I might have to take them off the line (in the rain), and then put them in the washing machine for a spin, and then into the dryer.
The other option is to put them on the clothes airer, but I only have a couple of little ones, so they don't really hold all that much.
The other problem is that a lot of my husband's shirts cannot go in the dryer, due to what type they are, so they take longer again.

I used to always complain about it raining on washing days but now have a completely different attitude when we have been without it for so long. Change from coloured pegs to wooden ones BEL makes life so much easier! lol I have not had a clothes-dryer for so long now but am surviving nicely with out it, took a little while but have never used them much except when something is needed desperately, like hubby's jocks! lol

I remember hearing the thunder last night I don't remember hearing rain. Only sign was a wet car this morning. We need a few more nights like that. I only wish we had a rain water tank to collect the rain.

When you have suffered from no rain for so long and it affects our way of life, you greatly appreciate it. Certainly does not make me sad, in fact it has made me very happy today! lol

Well we have had plenty of rain ourselves lately and thank god it has stopped. Our weather has been between hot, cold or wet, it can't seem to make up its mind what season it wants to be. One day we had 80's the next day it is in the 50's, but I have heard any drought concern yet.

We have been having 4 seasons in one day and with the small amount of rain around us it has helped in this area. We have been building up to a severe drought for some time now and could all see it coming. But billionaire PLEASE don't let that stop you from visiting our beautiful Country! lol
