i used to have pet hamsters, i already gave them to friends when i could not find the time to take care of them. these cute little critters mate usually at night when they are very active. it usually takes a while before they have offsprings. just be sure not to disturb them when they do because hamsters sometimes kill their offsprings when they are touched by humans.

Well it could be that you have two male hamsters or two female hamsters, regardless of what the people told you about their gender. Do some research to see if you actually have a male and female. If you do, you'll most likley will just have to wait until they decide to mate.

yeah i think they r the same gender. mine had babiies within like 3 weeks after I put the male and female in the same cage. i had 2 litters born within 2 weeks of each other from my 2 females. I had a total of 21 babies born in April

I'm having the same thoughts, possibly of the same gender. From my experience, hamsters looooove to mate, and nothing would really hinder them from doing so. Even if they may appear to have fooled around, ha ha, animals aren't always as picky as humans, if you know what I mean. I have 2 female degus and those two have, from time to time, gotten frisky.
