how do you handle long distance relationship?

trust,patience and loyalty thats the basic need in a relationship to streghten the relationship to have a good communication and strong foundation of love

As much as possible I want to avoid long distance relationship for it is really very hard.Aside that it needs high maintenance in keeping a good communication its an emotional torture hehe.It needs a lot of "those things" that you have mention above.I had a long distance relationship before and it did not end well.Long distance relationship is good only for a short time.But it really depend on you.As for me long distance will not work :)

Trust, love, patience and honesty. Both should have those qualities.

if you truly love that person no matter how far the distance is, you both make it at the end. your relationship in the long run will surely landed to marriage. to maintain the relationship, both should have all the ingredients, love,trust, patience and determination inorder both will survive. with the above mentioned, miscommunication will not be a problem. Therefore, communication is a must.

hi vangie!im currently on a long distance relationship and to mind you its really tough and rough. Both of you should know how to handle commitment especially in our case where in his really busy and doesn't have time for me sometimes but im used to it. To add up on your qualities/elements list - communication, understanding, respect and commitment matters as well.More importantly, you should pray hard and make Him the center of your relationship. My husband and I have lived in two different countries for two years, we just started living under the same roof again three months ago, but in two weeks I will be going back to Europe again for a month or two, because of a family emergency. Besides my own long-distance marriage, I actually have many friends, who have had longdistance relationships, and some have been more successful than others. In order for the relationship to succeed despite the distance, I have found that it actually takes a lot of trust, a lot of love, a lot of patience and a whole lot of loyalty. I think you are right on the mark, I just think that it takes a little bit more of everything to do the long-distance thing. It also takes a great deal of determination, a great amount of patience, lots of air miles and phone calls. There will be ups and downs, but the most important thing is to see the reward at the end.

i have a recent long distance relationship and he's living far from me in Canada..but it really works because we communicate everyday through emails and chatting every weekend or sometimes we do texting..it really work for us maybe because we trust each other and we really talk a lot about our secrets and also we really love and respect each other..that makes our relationship strong until now..

Its really hard to handle. I was away from my fiancee for three months and its horrible. I was used to seeing her every day and I usually had her spend the night so I was used to sleeping with her too.It was hard to sleep or eat or even think. I could never bring my self to hang up the phone so we usually fell asleep listening to eachother breath and holding a pillow. Yeah I had it bad and the honesty and trust issue is a big deal in a relation ship let alone a long distance relation ship. if you dont have trust and honesty than it will litterally drive you crazy to the point where you cant be with that person any more because your relation ship is unhealthy, and you both drove eachother nuts! so be careful and have trust but dont be stupid!
