do you like to lie on the bed and read?

that is not good for you if your mother has warned and I think it is better to finish your habit

I read in bed. It helps me to unwind and relax. Recently, I haven't. I would let my children do it. I don't think it affects your eyesight if you have proper light. I love lying down and reading a good book.

I read in the bed all the time actually it is the only place I can be comfortable when reading. I didn't know that reading in bed could cause vision problems and I am sure alot of people are unaware of this. To be sure if I was you I would call and ask your eye doctor to be on the safe side. What is the difference from reading in bed and watching t.v. in bed? especially if the television is farther away then the book would be? As I said you need to ask questions because anything that interferes with your vision should be questioned.

As long as you have enough light to read it doesn't matter if your in bed or sitting on a chair. What is the difference?

I love reading on the bed very much. But usually I lie on my stomach because it's more comfortable for me than lying, haha.. But I'm afraid it can do harm to eyesight. I got short-sighted in my junior high years when fell into this habit and frequently lie to read. Perhaps that's because this posture lead to too close a distance between eyes and books.

I lie in bed and read all the time. I can't imagine how that would affect eyesight.

I used to lie in bed to read but I now have astigmatism because of it so I seldom read anymore. I only read when I want I can't get myself to sleep. I think we should try to stop our children from building a habit of reading while lying down because it can affect their perfect vision. They can read while lying down once in awhile but we should make sure that they do so without covering the light.

yes i do, its more relaxing to read that way rther than sitting down and having a stiff neck.

I love doing this, I find it quite comfortable, just lying in bed curled up with a book. I don't think it affect eyesight, I've been doing this for years.
