Why do people spend so much time following the lives of celebrities ?

Fortunately i am not one of them -people who are interested in the lives of the celebrities. i mean not that i dont like them - i do like many of them but i don´t simply spend time and money buying and reading magazines, etc. about their lives. i think it is like a modern fairy-tale for most people ´coz i remember when i was a child i also used to daydream about Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the like. As teenie i was also fascinated or better said inlove with the Menudo -with their songs and their faces...so cute... but i have outgrown the fascination soon as they started going their own way. So it can be pure fascination or love or simply the fact that the life of a celebrity is a life that most people would have love too and always dreamed of - to be the center of attention, fashionable clothes, glamor and no financial worries, etc. and maybe reading and learning about the celebrities life enables them to dream about such a life. but i think when someone does it during her free time and not spend the whole day with it - it is fairly normal. each one of us are entitled to indulge in our own interests - a life or someone with no interest at all cannot be normal.

I guess not. it seems like instead of worshipping a deity we worship celebrities. Some people love their favorite stars so much they need to know about every thing about them. they don't have or don't like their own lives. It is scarry.
