Iam not a massive Badminton fan, in fact I haven't played a competitive game for over 8 years and I am now 17 Years old. If you asked me to name two players in the whole Badminton profession i wouldn't be able to answer. If I were pushed to give an answer I would probably say Peter Nicol..................................(Who is that some of you are probably asking?). I do however, remember how much I enjoyed playing it when I was a youngster and I wish I had the opportunity and the time to play it now.
Those two words (Opportunity & Time) are used as the backbone, the feeble excuses as to why so many perfectly able, perfectly healthy human beings can't and indeed won't participate in sport. It in no way surprises me how our society has come under attack from such crippling health related diseases (Type 2 Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease, Obesity to name but a few) all of which manifest their powers in those people who knowingly or unknowingly lead a sedentary lifestyle.
I have always believed in being active, and reaping the rewards exercise can have on your life. I wanted to transfer that feeling to others. My first graduate job has landed me at a company called the Corporate Games. The Corporate Games is the largest multi-sport festival in the world designed especially for those people who love sport but need an incentive, who want to be motivated, who need a goal to carry on playing. We appeal to those people in organisations of any type, whether they are large multi-national companies or Local Sports Clubs (Badminton Included) who desperately want to get involved in playing a sport of their choice. In the last UK Corporate Games 353 Badminton players competed, proudly representing their organisation. These organisations included Vodaphone, N-Power, Ernst & Young, Halifax and Waitrose to name a few. For those competitors, it was their Olympic Games, it was their chance to compete and represent their organisation with pride, to win medals and awards, but most importantly to get back to playing the sport they love.
That is what the Corporate Games allows you to do. It opens the door for you to join 6000 other participants all of whom have rediscovered their passion and love of sport. Take the opportunity and enjoy competing and meeting those people who have also taken up the challenge and taken those words (Opportunity & Time) and turned it into a positive.

I've been a part of swimming team during my high school and college days. It was fun and fulfilling as well. But my frustration is I was not able to compete in International Games because maybe Im not qualified but good thing is I gained recognition from our university and in our State. Its good to be involved in Sports you will learn how to have a discipline in yourself. Until now Im very much into sports I played badminton atleast 3x a week and been joining some local tournament.Good thing about playing badminton its a game at any ages, like in my country the 60's can play badminton...I want to grow old but still playing badminton...

Yeah badminton is a good sport to play as one can have fun and ones body arms, legs get stretched too. So it is good workout. I play badminton sometimes and it's fun esp. when you are enjoying yourself and playing well with family and friends. good luck. happy posting. :)

I am not a regular player of badminton, though I like to play it sometimes. I always love swimming. Why they, dont call it goodminton, instead of badminton?

I love playing badminton. It's one of the best ways to loose the extra pounds because it burns a lot of calories. With badminton, you can set your own pace, increase or decrease your game intensity. It's also one of way of bonding with family, friends, and acquaintances. it doesn't really entail expenses. You just need a sturdy racket.
