What are Black Holes??

Hi,
I was recently reading about black holes and quite didn't get what they were..Can anyone please explain??

As far as I understand it, black holes are parts of the universe which have so much gravity that anything, including light, are drawn into it. As no light can escape and reflect of them, they appear as dark voids in space.
Two popular theories about them exist:
The first being the 'dense matter' theory. The believe is that at the center of the black hole lays a matter so dense that it generates enough gravity to attract light.
The second being the 'worm hole' theory. The believe is that black holes are 'tunnels' which sucks in everything on one side and throws it out in another.
As there is no real way to prove both theories now, they still pretty much just wild guesses.
My 2 cents, maybe someone else has a better understanding?

Thanks a lot dude..well I also heard that they can throw u into another time..is it true??I mean if I am not wrong theres a theory by Enstein about it..time travel..what do u think??

it still remains a theory. no one has accounted any proof about time travel via black holes. i guess no one wants to try.. lolz! c',)

black holes are gravitational fields that are so strong that matter or radiation, not even light can escape from it. if you have a powerful telescope, you can even see some of them in the skies at night. you just need to know how to find them. c',)
