I would buy the Voyager series. I liked DSN but I,too, didn't like the fact that they weren't out exploring like the other Star Trek shows.

If you liked Star Trek TNG then you should buy the Voyager collection. i like that one.
i really didnt like DS9 at all, never really got into any character and didnt like the fact that they were not exploring at all. no "trek" to the show. lol

Well between the two I personally prefered Voyager. Deep Space Nine was ok but I thought Voyager was far better. I liked the story lines better and the discovery that they had. DS9 had some good characters and story lines but not as good when compared to Voyager in my opinion. I would buy that collection first, if I had a choice.

If you want to go through chronological order, do DS9 then Voyager.
Voyager's first episode starts off partly from a later season in the DS9 season.
Just like DS9 starts up during a later season of ST: NG.

DS9, No Voyager, No DS9, No Voyager, This is a really difficult question, I really liked DS9 storylines (both dax's, Bashir, Quark, the Emissary, Bajorans Vs Cardassians, Odo & Female Changeling, Weyoun, Nog, The Jem Hadar, etc.) But Voyager was an instant classic with me too Lost in space with a new adventure every episode (and some double ep's too) i'd have to say my favourite is Voyager but the compettion is very close.

The way I look at it, I'd get both sets, because all the series are set within the same fictional universe, even if DS9 is more static than Voyager.
I remember the exact argument regarding "which show is better" when Star Trek: The Next Generation came out in '87. Some Trekkies hated the new show because it was less action oriented than the Original Series, while others liked it because it was more character-driven.
I think the reverse argument is what Voyager fans will use when telling you that their show is better...that it's more action oriented than DS9.
Get Voyager first, if you must, but also get DS9.
