I would think so. It would stop a lot of Tragic
incidents in the colleges. Society needs to be more aware of people check out their Medical back-ground when entering college, and in the work place I think it would be differcult to have in the work place, but it happens in a work place too. so what should Society do. What would be some good suggestions so this tragic thing about the college never happens again. I think they should put Metal detecters in the Colleges, they already have them in some schools. I want everyones oppinion. have a nice week -end!

yes, it is better to be sure than never.. criminals are at large esp at schools, imagine the things that happened at Vtech? It is so awful and i wouldnt want that to happen. metal detectors are the closest thing to safety.

Yes, we need to have more secure colleges or schools for the safety of our children. It's a shame that people carry weapons to schools or colleges and the staff is not aware of that. We need more security.

These are all good ideas and they could put them in high schools as well.

Yes, there should be metal detectors in Colleges and daily check up of the students posessions. Especially when they are inside the campus or building premises. So to avoid tragic situations and incidents in colleges. Which resorted to many students to die in vain. Colleges should implement metal detectors. Have a nice week en Marcia! (^^,)

I think it would be a good idea, but in my college that wouldn't be possible. You'd put it there in the beggining of the day, and at the end it would be gone.
In some colleges it would just be a waste of money.

The events that leads to the demise at VT is surely one that have us all put into the drawing boards of our security in our schools, and some other establsihments as well, its kind of ironic as advance a country as US can be compromised by these actions? I just cant begin to imagine or comprehend why these things get in? From the college that i went to, hardly a sharpened pencil at the gate will not be noticed by the army of security guards in detail & the plain clothes & student security that roves around - these are ordinary universities. The only way these much firepower that can get in is either there is strong connivance from university personnels within or there is total breach of security perimeters but not like this that gets in & out on in/egresess. Just how exactly people in security evaluate what is security then? & based on alarming records of same incidences across rich nations (which seems to have only sufferred this graive malaise) just what type of terror has evolved here within?
That a metal detector be put up? so be it, it did not bother people at the airport, this surely should not bother the same in the schools.
