Freedom to my mind, is being able to find space and quiet when one wants it, to do what they want to and when they want to, without breaking the law.
Therefore, I disagree that there can never be any such person as a free person, because if you have the guts and determination to reach the state of freedom, then you will. Too often, we are afraid to state our needs and desires, and indeed, carry through the actions required to put these within our reach.
Positive mental attitude and courage will get you anything you need. Just keep it within the law and you can survive... a free person.

What about Rumplestiltskin?
He napped for 20 years and no one stopped him.
Seems like he was perfectly free to me, lol.
j/k
You are right, even tho there is liberty, one still has to do things he/she may not always want to.

Freedom is such a broad term. Anybody is free to do what he likes in a democratic society. However, each one has a responsibility that comes with this freedom. Everyone has to earn an income or else he won't eat or have a place to live in. On the other hand, a capitalist society controls most of its people's lives. The government is supposed to provide for its constituents in exchange for this freedom. Thus, because no one can live by himself, each one has to give up a certain degree of freedom.
