Butter chicken curry sounds gorgeous, but very naughty! Many curries contain lots of ghee, which is very high in cholesterol and saturated fats, and some also contain cream, which contains similar "bad" fats. However, it's not a good idea to rule out all "bad" fats from your diet, as the body needs a little of these, as part of a balanced diet. The key is to have these buttery curries once in a while, rather than making them a regular part of your diet. As you like it so much, you could make it a monthly treat for yourself! There are of course, healthier ways to make curry - if you make it for yourself from scratch, you could substitute olive oil or sunflower oil for the ghee, and yoghurt or coconut milk for the cream. I tend to like to make as many foods from scratch as possible, because not only can you make it the way you like it, but you know what's going into it, and can make it healthier by changing some of the ingredients to healthier alternatives. I hope this is helpful for you, and as I said earlier, don't stop having your butter chicken curry altogether - just every now and again as part of a balanced diet! I'm making chicken tikka masala tonight by the way, and I use sunflower oil and yoghurt, to make it healthier! So not all chicken curries are high in fat - it's the type of sauce you have with it!
