Why are people so rude?

I was playing a multi-player online game earlier and out of 9 players at least 4 coutries were represented. One person (I don't think the country is important so I won't mention it) was trying to start a conversation, the conversation was fine, but 1 comment was made about his country, then another comment and so on. I, being a mom, diffused the situation, but even after this person should have left the game (he lost had no reason to stay) they stayed and continued the conversation, which had turned to trying to start an arguement. Again, I told the person they were being rude and this was a friendly game, but they persisted. Why can't people just be nice to each other? Especially in a place where everyone there is just trying to have a good time.

Seems like there is one in every game room I ever go into. are they seeking attention? People just dont like to get along anymoreand they want to ruin it for the ones who are having fun.Maby game rooms should be better policed I know many have rules to follow but some have them and dont inforce them al all.

I hate this. Unfortunately it is more common than we know. Here in sweden they have even started a hotline for people feeling that they are beeing bullied online. I think most of those people acting out like this are people who would never do it if they could see you, they think that they are protected nehind the screen, Wish that they would just stop to think before opening their mouth though. U never know how the other person will take those comment-
