Quahogs or hen clams

My kids and I were walking on the beach in Maine yesterday, as it was an unussually warm day in April, and found that a recent storm has washed up a ton of large shellfish on teh beach. We collected a ton of them and want to eat them, I don't however know if they are quahogs or hen clams, or if there is much difference. I have found a couple of recipes for clam cakes and stuffed clam shells, anyone know of any other interesteing ways to prepare this ocean wonder? Have any pictures that might halp me differentiate?
