I am definitely a city person. Montreal is a city of three million people and I have lived in the city all my life.
I wouldn't want to be in a bigger city because I don't like all the congestion, I think Montreal is big enough, but I wouldn't want to live in the suburbs and have to commute all the time to get into the city for work. I hate traffic.
I don't like the real country either, it is too quiet for me,
What best describe you, a city person, country person, or suburbs kind of gal or guy and why?

Well, I'm definitely NOT a country girl and I love visiting the city, but I don't necessarily want to live in it. So, I guess I'm more of a suburbs kind of girl. The country is too far away from everything and the city's too noisy and, as you said, congested. The suburbs is kinda perfect. It's gotta be somewhat close to the city, though.

I am a country girl wh is stuck in the city. I grew up in the country and those were the best times of my life. My fondest memories go back to those days. After my marriage failed, I moved to the city I now reside in to be near my family. I truly regret this decision. Over the years I kept telling myself that I would go back some day, but there was always a reason to put it off. Now all of my kids and grandkids are here and I don't want to be that far away from them.

me, too. i am a city person.. i really enjoy the crowd..
though traffic s really annoying, i find it amusng to see so many people rushing down the streets, i just love observing them.
howeverm what i also like in a country life is the sense of calmness and serenity.
its so good when you breathe a clean air and see refreshing scenes.
but still, i prefer city than country.

I am as country as they get! I was born and raised in the country. when I got married I married a country Man and we stayed in the country. We raised our daughters to love the country.
I love nature in all the things that are found in the country from the beautiful green grass to the wonderful fall colors of the changing leaves. I love to hike and camp. I love to go barefooded in the grass and in the rivers and streams. I love to picnic while hiking in the woods.
I am pure country and I love the beauty that Heavenly Father has given us on this earth.

I stay in the city for most part of my life, the life is very hectic and I am rushing here rushing there almost every day. The traffic is terrible and you are always caught in it and spend about 2.5 hours on the road everyday to get to work.
I missed the country life that I had experienced when I was studying overseas, the lifestyle was very difference. It was a regional center; all the important facilities are available.

I have lived in cities, pararies, deserts, near the ocean,country..I have loved experiencing it all but now I love being in the country.I love to have the windows open in summer and hear the birds and at night the crickets and frogs..I love the clean air and the quiet.I also love being able to sit in the swing on my large yard and look over to the pasture to watch my horses run.I love that the deer are sometimes in the horse pasture when I look out the window..I'm a country gal at heart

I am a city person married to a country husband so we have settled in the suburbs. This is fine though because we have two young sons and I just would rather not have them go to the city schools. But I have always loved the hustle and bustle of the city. Who know maybe when the kids grow up and I can talk my husband into it we will move to the city.

I am not a City Person at all
I have just moved out of a Town and into a little Village and it is lovely
The Air is a lot cleaner and better for me I love the walks with Gissi now as I am breathing in fresh Air and not what I was before which means I can walk a bit longer now without having to stop and trying to breathe

I am not strangeer in city, nor in the town!
I am ok with both theplaces or say I am a person who suits to urban and rural both the kind of situation!
I think mostly 70% of the world population has this kind of unique personality!

I live in the city but our house is not exactly close to the center of the city. I do not like the traffic too and probably can not sleep with the car noise. Fortunately, our house is not near the highway. So it is all good.
I would not mind to work in the city during the day as long as i come home to a nice and quiet neighborhood.
A real countryside, with farm is fine as long as i wont live there forever. I think i would always be looking for the urban life.

I have always lived in a city and I like it. I have never lived in a city as big as Montreal and I think it would almost be to big for me. I now live in a small town. We moved here because my husband had a chance for a job here. I have still not gotten used to it for the amount of gossip. I absolutely can not stand it. When we first came here my husband said, "Oh you'll get used to that, it's just small town living." He was born raised and spent most of his years in a small town but after awhile he had to admitt this is the worst town for gossip. I refuse to associate with anyone here I just stick to myself. I believe when people gossip 24/7 and believe me they do here, then you should know they're also talking about you when your back is turned. I don't have time for that. I refuse to tell my neighbours where I go and what I'm doing and although I know you'll have a hard time believing me, my neighbours have actually called my daughter in the city to ask where we are. My daughter being a city girl and knowing my frustration has said, "I'm sure mom will see you when she gets home." She won't tell them anything but it's real bad here.

Actually I was born in a country, but I live my half life in city whose name is Changchun.Changchun is a big city in Jilin province of China.I spended my University's time and Graduate student's time here.In fact,I only get through my childhood in country.
One of my relatives said to me at one time or another, that the country life will not adapt me any more,as I have left the country so longer. At the first I don't believe him ,but now I'm agree with him.
The city life is so convenient and abundant,I can get what I want immediately and so on.
As for younger especially, the city life means activity.Maybe some older people like country life, for they prefer a quiet and peaceful circumstance.

I am a major country person. My husband is pretty much from the city and I grew up in the country. He is now being converted over into a country guy and he's doing pretty good. I think he was a country guy all along just stuck in the city. I don't like all the traffic and people that are in the city. I like being able to go outside at night and actually being able to see the stars and walk all over my own property. The city is just too busy for me.

Hi there winterose! I agree with you- lOVE the city. I love the noise, traffic, horn blowing, people cussing at each other!!! I have also lived in a samll town so I can compare the too and I hate small town/country life. everyone knows each other...friends marry into their friends family so its almost like everyone is RELATED!!! Plus as a minority, acceptance is greater and easier in a city. I am Thai-American and when I lived in the small town, they referred to me as "the colored girl"!!! This was 1998/1999 when this took place, but still???

Hahaha....I read your post here and I can relate. The kids in the small town I grew up in used to refer to me as "indian", meaning a native, person because of my dark skin.

I like both actually. Just yesterday i was up in the country, we went to check out my mom's and her future husband's new home. It was so peaceful there, you could hear the birds singing, the water in the lake...and we went to have lunch in this little restaurant in the village, and people were so friendly, everyone seemed so relaxed..i think city life stresses people out, everyone's always in a rush, you only hear traffic, honking cars, sirens, children screaming, people yelling...it can get tiring at some point. If i had to keep on working though, i'd definately stay in the city, but hopefully, one day, me and my hubby will be able to have a home in the country, where i can stay home and raise our children.

Well my wife and I both grew up in the city and moved to the country about four years ago. At first it was a little hard to adjust, mainly to the fact that by 9:00 pm everything is shut down.
Now that we have been in the country for a while you couldn't pay me to move back to the city. The primary difference is the people here. Just as an example when we lived in the city people would see you struggling to get an appliance in your home and then would just walk on by, Here they stop and help. And in general I think they're just more considerate.

I was born and raised in a big industrial city in the UK, dirty, smokey and very little fresh air. When I first moved to the USA I lived in a medium sized town but a year later moved to the country and I have had a home there ever since. I love it and when I am here in the UK I can't wait to get back to my country home. There is a lake across the road - farm land all around and it is beautiful. But then you know what they say - "To each his own."

I am a city person. I've always live in large cities, like Toronto, and now Tainan, Taiwan. But, I wouldn't mind trying out the country, I think I can learn a lot from beign in the country... like milking cows, growing plants and etc...
