My blood sugar level was a little elevated on my last lab report 103 with normal being 65-99.
I do not have diabetes and do not want to get diabetes. My paternal Grandma was borderline and my maternal Grandpa was a stong diabetic.
First, I've noticed after walking my feet burn is that a symptom of diabetes? Also, how can I get the blood work in the normal range?
Thank You.

What do you mean burn, My mom was diabetic too she used to get swelling in her feert but thats because of kidney disese which usually follows after diabetes. Try and reduce your intake of sugar and you can use di-stix regualrly to check you sugar level. Be careful , I hate this disease, it sorts of eats you from inside.

Yes, burning feet is a symton of diabetes. I looked it up on the internet and here are two of the many links I found. I might need to get checked also, since I also have these symtons. Good look to you and cut way down on sweets and other carbohydrates. It is easier said than done, I know.

go to your doctor explain that diabetes is in your family and ask for the blood test for it, that is the only way you are going to know.

I'm not to sure.
I honestly should because my mothers a diabetic but recently I've been focusing more on other problems she's got. I remember her having burning sensations though when working to hard etc, but this could be a few things.
Have a check up to be sure dixie =)
Take care to,

yikes!! I should get my blood tested. I had no idea hot feet came as a result of diabetes!! My mother was diabetic and I do consume lots of sugar in my daily in-take. I started a similar thread, but had not that many responses. glad I saw this yours!! God Bless

I'm not sure about the burning feet but mine do that too sometimes. To lower your blood sugar levels eat less carbs like white breads and cakes. Eat whole grains instead. We are eating more protein and less carbs my husband sees a big difference when checking his blood.
