Dangdut Music Western culture has influenced Indonesia mostly in modern entertainment such as television shows, movies and songs. India has notably influenced Indonesian songs and movies. A popular type of song is the Indian-rhythmical dangdut, which is often mixed with Arab and Malay folk music.

yeah, Indonesian music is very infected with another country, especially India. since so long ago Indian music is very popular in our country so it had much effects to our music.

While dangdut derive from Malay, but there are same song that actually originated from India, even some dangdut musician who are just translate song from India.

actually, the music of dangdut is sounds more like Indian song to me. the beat of the drum and the rhythm we never know where that is come from exactly.
