Hamster fur

I have a question. My hamster's fur has gotten a little, well, out of control. What I mean is that her fur is growing out of control. It isn't too bad right now. It's hind legs have a little fur coming over them sort of like it has pants on or something. What I'm wondering is do I need to cut it? Is it harming my hamster that I'm not cutting it? And is there a special pair of scissors or should I go to the veterinarian? Thank you in advance for helping me.

hmm. Is it a syrian hamster? If so, then maybe your hamster is the long-haired type and is starting to grow now.

Haha, then if your hamster's hair is getting into it's eyes you must tie it! =p Okay Okay I'm just kidding, you don't tie hamster's hair!

Why don't you put a picture with your hamster that we can see what is all about? Maybe is totally normal. How old is your hamster and what kind of hamster is it?

I wish I could help, but I've only had hamsters with short hair.

I don't think it's anything serious, actually. Is your hamster a dwarf hamster? Dwarf hamsters are supposed to have fur on their legs, so it should be okay. All my dwarfs have fur on their legs. I think it's even cuter! Don't worry too much. If your hamster is a syrian hamster, you know syrian hamster grows very long fur, so maybe it's growing long now.
