lcd monitors dont have electromagnetic radiation like crt monitors. i have heard that crt has a clearer picture but in my experience, i prefer the image of an lcd monitor. lcds are flatter and smaller. they are also cooler to look at.

Well, I'm not sure how true the statement is, I just know it affects the eyes less than CRT monitors. Talking from my experience, I need to look at the monitor for long hours, as this is my work. There was once my eyes were so painful that doctor advised me that I might need to change job, coz looking at monitor might hurt my eyes. After a while, my company changed my monitor from CRT to LCD. Since then, my eyes felt better. It might be caused by I took more care of my eyes too. But, I think LCD monitor really helps to cure my eye problem.

yes, this is true that LCD hurts the eyes a lot lesser than the CRT monitors, because they don't emit electromagnetic radiations. i have heard that the picture of a CRT monitor is better than that of LCD monitor but i personally don't agree with it. i think that you should switch to LCD monitor immediately in order to keep your eyes safe from the harmful radiations which CRT monitor emits.

i have a samsung crt monitor right now and its picture and images are very clear. i put a glass filter on it but im not sure if it blocks those electromagnetic radiations you mentioned. but i guess the glass filter helps, coz my eyes seems not hurting just like before when there was no glass filter. but im already sold in replacing this monitor with an lcd type. im just looking for a good lcd brand before buying one.
