Do you feel offended when your partner passes gas?

My husband farts all the time, and he seems to think its not a big deal. I have a question out there for men and women, hopefully it will clear things up. Ladies: Are you offended when your husband farts? Does it make you feel gross? Do you think they shouldn't do this? Alright Men: Do you think that is ok for women to fart around you? What do you think about it? Does it offend you? Last question for both sexes, i'm just wondering just because it sounds funny. Do you like the smell of your farts? Just wondering, thought i'd start a strange topic.

Farting In Bed
This is a story about a couple who had been happily married for years. The only friction in their marriage was the husband's habit of farting loudly every morning when he awoke. The noise would wake his wife and the smell would make her eyes water and make her gasp for air. Every morning she would plead with him to stop ripping them off because it was making her sick. He told her he couldn't stop it and that it was perfectly natural. She told him to see a doctor; she was concerned that one day he would blow his guts out. The years went by and he continued to rip them out.
Then one Thanksgiving morning as she was preparing the turkey for dinner and he was upstairs sound asleep, she looked at the bowl where she had put the turkey innards and neck, gizzard, liver and all the spare parts, and a malicious thought came to her. She took the bowl and went upstairs where her husband
was sound asleep and, gently pulling back the bed covers, she pulled back the elastic waistband of his underpants and emptied the bowl of turkey guts into his shorts.
Some time later she heard her husband waken with his usual trumpeting which was followed by a blood curdling scream and the sound of frantic footsteps as he ran into the bathroom. The wife could hardly control herself as she rolled on the floor laughing, tears in her eyes! After years of torture she reckoned she had got him back pretty good. About twenty minutes later, her husband came downstairs in his bloodstained underpants with a look of horror on his face. She bit her lip as she asked him what was the matter. He said, "Honey, you were right. All these years you have warned me and I didn't listen to you." "What do you mean?" asked his wife. "Well, you always told me that one day I would end up farting my guts out, and today it finally happened. But by the grace of God, some Vaseline, and these two fingers, I think I got most of them back in.

I thought you were going to say you just wanted to clear the air. LOL!
My husband farts so bad I sent him to the doctor. He stinks. He is actually alienating himself from the family as the children and I choose to watch tv in a different room than him when he is "on". The doctor gave him some advice, which he followed for about three days. It makes me angry. He always goes to bed before me. I come into the room and he is sound asleep and as soon as I walk in the room he farts. He farts in his sleep! And yeah, he likes the smell of his farts.
His brother's wife has forbidden his brother from farting in bed. He is not allowed to do it. I don't know how she gets her way, nor how he manages to hold it. LOL!
And hubby thinks it's disgusting when I fart. It's not good for a woman to fart. Double standard, hypocritical, idiotic theory.
I do believe that women fart differently. I think we are able to squeeze them out without making a sound. At least that is my case and I know it is the same with my daughter. Silent but deadly.
Yes, I am offended when my husband farts.

Wow, man I feel sorry for you. I think that your comment is so to the point, its just hilarious. I don't usually take pleasure in other people misfortunes, but man! I have an idea you could tell your hubby, take care of your problem or we'll have to insert an air freshener can in your butt. lol good post.

Whether it's my friend or boyfriend I hate it when someone farts. If you fart then you should not be beside or close to me. You should go somewhere where I can't smell that eeeww smell. It's really gross. When I fart it does not smell bad... I wonder why others produce a really2x bad smell..

Hi SilentRose. I definetly dont agree with any smells that come from down around there, u know what I mean. I do however encourage my family not too hold there farts in, for fear of bringing on a apendicitis, which can be very life threatening if not caught in time. As well as constipation... But this ones funny, when I met my man, I happen to coff and let one out and boy was I embarrassed, I ended up laughing it off to fight my embarrassment, if you can imagine that, he laughed too, not long after we were one steady couple and still going strong lol... I dont have a problem with anyone farting as long as they have respect and consideration for the other person or persons around them. :)

Well, my husband passed gas almost all the time. It does not offend me because I am used to it by now, although it doesn't smell very good.
It does offend me when my husband is cruel with it though. For example, he will roll up all the windows in the car when he is driving, lock them, and then pass gas. It is so terrible.
I personally am more private in those matters. I do it not out in the open like my husband.

Well, perhaps it is a cultural thing, here in UK if you do not fart loudly after a meal your host will consider it most rude and think you did not enjoy the meal
all the best urban

I don't think it's okay for women to fart around me, they have to show some respect. I mean we should always show love and respect for one another. Sometimes I do like the smell of my fart (hahahaha. So funny). Thanks and have a nice day.

I don't get offened when my boyfriend farts. It's a natural thing for eveyone. What does get me going is that it seems that a lot of men that I have met anyways seem to think it is ignorant for woman to do it. It seems far more acceptable for a man to do it. I do belive that there is a time and place, like if your sitting at the table eating and you fart, that is rude, or in a store or sometimng.

I'm never offended by it cause lets face it we all have to let one rip at some point or another....and my hubby isnt a pig about it, doesnt make a big deal about it etc....he's as descret as possible usually (unless he's giddy like he was last night LOL)...so no I dont get offended at all..as for women farting around their men....LOL I do it on occasion and we actually laugh about it since I have claimed that I dont fart at all ;-)

Oh well I could not say that my husband farts all the time but he does let off air everyone does or should as this is natural and should not be ashamed as long as it is only in front of your own husband and not just any where it is best to let the wind out and not keep it in as this can affect your health
