Hello,
listening to a lot of rock guitar records, there are a lot of sounds I'd like to achieve...but my favourite is the Slash (Guns N' Roses) sound. It is given by his Les Paul into a Marshall Jubilee 1987. Another great sound I like is the one Zakk Wylde has in Pride & Glory album. Please tell us your favourite sounds. Bye

Hi
I love that Marshall sound - no other amp can do it - my favourite guitar sound of all time is Ritchie Blackmore's sound around the Rainbow On Stage time. He played a strat through an old tape deck acting as a preamp back through his Marshall stack. Blackmore and Gallagher were the only Strat players who managed to really harness the Marshall to its full extent. I agree with your assesment of Slash's sound - I really like that. the other unique sound that blew me away the first time I heard it was Eddie Van Halen, but I don't think it was the guitar or amp, so much as his technique

There are a lot tones that i wanted to copy but until now i find it hard to achieve the sounds that i really wanted, Heard of WILDFLOWER by Color Me Badd? The guitar part is so amazing, the guitarist achieved a tone as if you are floating in the air.
Another one is the acoustic part of You're all i need by white lions. Dimebag Darrel tone (Pantera), Steve Vai's Tender Surrender, Bad Horsie and For the love of God.
Here are some tone that i love, which in my opinion, i successfully copied (TONE), Smooth by Santana, Erotomania by Petruci, Little Wing by JImmy Hendrix.
