I don't turn my cellphone off but I put it on silent mode. I hate it when other people don't turn it off or put it on silent mode.

I also put my phone on silent mode, as it is very rare for me to go to the movies. The only calls I would expect would be the school if there was any problems with our daughter. If the phone does ring, I always walk out of the theater I make sure I sit near the door.

I always turn mine off as soon as i get into the cinema. The most annoying thing is when people sit and text during the film. Their phone lights up and you can't help but look to see what is going on.

I actually don't get to go to the movies very much but when I do, I always turn off the phone. We all survived years ago whe we didn't have cell phones, so I don't know how people can say they can't get by without one for an hour or so at church or the movies. It is very rude I think.

I find people are so rude with cellphones, if you are going to see a movie remember so are other people, do not have a loud ringing cellphone to disturb people's enjoyment.
Even on busses etc, remember strangers are not interested in your conversations, it is just rude.
If you have to have a cellphone, put it on vibration and answer the call when you have a chance to be private.

I agree. I admit, I sometimes talk loudly in public areas because of bad receptions. But, I'm better now I try to lower my voice or cover my mouth with my hand to talk.

i don't but its in a silent mode... yeah, i get irritated at moviehouse if there's a loud ring of a cellphone, its really unethical... so if you can't turn it off, turn it in vibrate mode or in silent... ;)

I agree. But, why do people do that? I had an experience once where a cell phone rang, the guy answered it and spoke loudly. At least I thought he would turn it off since he probably forgot to turn it off. but, minutes later it went off again. I was so mad.

I agree, then some peoples cell phones are very loud & have long songs playing as ring tones. A lot of the times it's not even kids, it be the adults who don't turn it off. The worse is when they answer it and want to have a 10 minute conversation on the phone. (Really good question)

I agree. It's like they're telling them what is going on about the movie. That's just not right. Thanks for response.

I will of course switch it off or turn it to the vibrating mode so that it will not ring loudly,it is quite embarassing and disturbing if your cell phone alerts loudly, your ringtones will affect other audience pretty much and if you choose to pick up the phone, I am sure everyone will star at you. Some people may have excuse that they cannot turn off their cell phones or they will lose contact eith their customers which involve in multi million transactions, may be those businessmen better watch mnovies at home rather than in the cinema.

Good point. They probably have their own theaters at home and just go the public theaters to tick us off. thanks for comment.

hi
Yes, I make sure i turn off my cell phone when i get into the theatre. I will feel very very embarass if my phone rings in the middle of a movie, and luckily that has not happen to me.
I've also develop a habit of turning off my phone when i have a meeting in office.
I think some people need to learn to be more considerate of others in their midst.

But by not turning off the phone or put it on silent (assuming you didn't put on silent)you are disturbing people when the phone rings. The ringtone itself will echo throughout the room, unless you have a really cool music ringtone. We might forget it.

It's fine if you put it on silent mode. Just don't talk out loud when answering the phone. It's not fair for others in the theater who paid the same amount as you. Thank you for response.

I hate also people who let their cellphones ring, much worst those who put it on a maximum ringing tone. Personally, i turn it off when i get into a theater but sometimes i turn it on when i expect some important text or call, i usually set it to silent mode and vibrate so i will know if theres someone texting or calling.

yeah i do turn off my phone on any function, meeting, movie, church service or anything that could catch anybodys attention in a wrong and selfish way. leave your phone in a silent mode or vibrating mode. that's the only way to respect those people sorrounding you especially on events that may require extreme attention and silence.

If I'm going with my son, there is nothing important enough to get interupted for, it goes off as soon as i sit in my seat. If I am out without him, it goes on vibrate, in case there is a problem. As of yet, there hasnt been, but i would never answer in the theatre, its not that much effort to get up and walk outside the doors if its that important of a call. Some people are selfish and dont think of the others...boo to them.
