My son will be a pre-schooler this school year. I am quite confuse on where to send him for some financial reason. My financial situation is saying to send him to a public school but as a parent who grew up in a private school is telling me to do my best and seek resources to send him to a nice school like what my parents did to me. Any suggestion guys?

If you are considering the financial reason you can send your child to free learning centers in some barangays. At his age they enjoy more playing while learning. This is just for the meantime. Because when he reaches the elementary proper , I think it will be better to send him in a private school but not the expensive ones. You have to scout where really is the cheapest but best. You also have to consider the location of the school, because the farther it is the more expenses there is on transportation. Also there are schools which requires students to buy socks, bags, etc, exclusively. Just try budgetting more on other non-essential things than the education of your son.

I already enrolled my son in a private school near our house. It is a big savings for it is only walking distance. And guess what? I got a special 12% discount from the tuirion fee. Isn't that great? I really want the best education for my son from the very start.

I never had a problem with decent public schools. Went to one myself and did just fine. But now that I have a son, I want to do better for him. I hate hearing about all the problems in schools now and I don't want him to have to waste his time dealing with all that mess. He's super smart, and I'd rather homeschool him so that he's able to learn all that he wants to, rather than be limited by what a school feels like doing. I guess if I had to, I'd consider a private school, but you still run into the problem where someone else is imparting their values and beliefs on your child. I never thought I'd feel this way, but it's growing stronger every day.

I understand your feeling, especially that you want the best for your kid. But I prefer a formal schooling than a homeschooling. For I believe that somehow, his social life will be affected.

Are there any charter schools in your area? We had one open up and they are really nice schools to go to, but the parents have to volunteer once a week. My little girl will start Prek in Aug, my hubby will be deployed overseas and we will be staying with his mom. My little girl is on a waiting list at the private school but if she doesnt get a spot, she will go to a community school in the country that is semi-private.

We don't have a charter school here. Is it hard there to go to private schools? Why do you have to wait for the spot. Here if you have the money, you can go to private anytime.

Gee. Gosh. My Golly. Wattah. I can relate with your situation my dear. My advice is go for the public for the time being, and when you got the much needed moolah then go for the best school. Your not blocking the right of the kid for good education but only adapting to the real situation. Hey sounds like I'm rapping! hehehe. Hope this helps.

Gee. Gosh... Thanks for the suggestion but I guess I'll still try to put him in good school from the very start.

If you can afford private school why not. But if it would have a great impact on your financial situation, you may consider some public schools. I advise you to do some research first on which public school to send your child to. Do some background checks on security and quality of education. This is only but temporary.

I want to do the best that I can do for my son's education for I believe that good foundation should be started immediately, but if I really can't I will follow your suggestion to background check first the school that my son will get into .
