Have any of you seen the new commercial for this product? It shows a husband and a wife and the wife is trying to quit smoking. She's crying and her voice is hoarse and she states that the commit lozenges helps her to "Stay sane, not that I sound sane right now". She sounds like she's about to be committed to be honest (maybe that's where they came up with the name?).
If you have seen this commercial would you use this product if you were going to quit? Personally I wouldn't, not that I have plans to but that commercial would be enough for me not to try. With her crying that way and all upset...not a great picture to show to encourage someone to quit in my opinion.
What's your opinion though?

My husband and I quit about 4 years ago. I did it cold turkey. He did the commit lozenges. He started with the 4 mgs and stayed on them for quite some time. I convinced him to switch to the 2 mg ones. The package says to use for 12 weeks. He has been on them for 4 years. I can't get him off them. I hope they are a better addiction than the ciggies.

Oh wow. That sure doesn't help much does it? He just changed one for another. That's not much better really when you think about it. I've heard similar happening with others as well with the gum.

Well I'm having an on-going battle to quit smoking...and no I haven't seen the commercial..but from how you describe it, it doesn't sound like it gives a smoker much encouragement to quit --just the opposite quite frankly

I can say that I haven't seen the new commercial...but I will be sure to look for it! LOL and I have tried the Commit Lozenges. And if that is how they depicted her...it is a very accurate picture! LOL
I was a mess trying to quit. But my partner was not doing so well and I gave up trying. But sure enough, I was crying and just plain not happy. LOL
And those lozenges taste horrible!!! I couldn't keep one in my mouth very long. So, I would take it out and put it on a piece of foil to save for later when I wanted another one. Like I said, they taste horrible and that sounds like a perfect picture of how I felt! LOL

Ok if they do that I don't want to go near them. Ugh that sounds horrible. I can understand why you quit them.

Although these Commit Lozenges have helped me to quit smoking. I agree that is a stuipd commerical. I tried them because of a nurse I met in the hospitail that told me he had taken them and they worked. So I have tryed them and they do help.

Heheh well if you see it you'll know it. Makes you wonder what they are thinking when they do commercials that way. For myself it doesn't make me want to rush out and use it.

Well actually I have not see the commercial for this product as yet but I bet I soon will be seeing it. Yes maybe that is where they came up with the name or that you feel like you are going to commit something when you are trying to give up cigerattes. This product does not sound very encouraging by your comments here about these lozenges.

Hehe or that you will be commited when you use them and quit. Good point. I agree it doesn't sound very encouraging to me either. Why would I want to go through all that?
