The very first Stephen King movie I saw was "It". I watched it at my friend's house one night. She was having a slumber party and had 4 other girls and me and my sister over. I was like 10 or 11 years old. I remember laying in the living room, after the movie, thinking I saw that evil clown looking in the window at me. I was so scared to go to sleep. But then I watched it years later(in my 20's) with my husband and it was so cheesy and not even a little bit scary. Still is a good movie though! So, what was your first Stephen King movie that you watched and what did you think about it?

The first of his movies that I ever watched was "Salem's Lot". I remember it scaring the living daylights out of me...so much so that I had bad dreams for quite a while. To this day, I have not watched it again. But yet, I have watched all of the Freddy movies without a single nightmare. Go figure. LOL

The first Stephen King movie I watched as "The Shining". The next movie was either Salem's Lot or Pet Cemetery or it could have been "The Running Man," but that was under a different name. I also watched "Cujo" and since I got the book "On Writing" I heard that in the book, the boy got killed. But I guess with the movie, people would not have watched it then. As it were, I did the book "On Writing" from my son a couple of Christmases ago, and I found that his idea of writing made sense. Oh and I do not like clowns either.

I don't know but I do know that I loved The Shining. I'm not really a Stephen King fan but I also loved his book: The Stand. I would like to read it again.

I'd have to say it's The Green Mile! The story was kind of magical at the same time logical because it would require your mind to think about the plot. Anyway, that was a long movie, probably it took 3 CDs for the movie to be stored into. But it was worth it! That movie, if I remember correctly, brought me to tears! Haha, of course, I was like a youngster back then! Lol.

The first Stephen King movie I saw was Stand By Me. I saw it a long long time ago becasuse I was young and in love with River Phoenix (lol). I didn't really understand it at the time. I watched it years later and did get the just of it. I have watched Misery and then It as well as Pet Cemetary. I liked the movies all except It which was kind of stupid. I didn't realize that Stephen King wrote the Green Mile which I also saw and truly liked. I confess though that I have never read any books. I started to read "the Shining" because a friend recommended Stephen King (highly) but I found his writing too dry to get much more than 150 pages into it.

I think the first movie adaptation of Stephen King's books that i saw was "Carrie". That was followed by "The Shining" with Jack Nicholson. Pretty good movie but not comparable to the book itself. I had also watched "Salem's Lot" and "IT" but my impression was that none of the movies did justice to his books.
