Not True or False

While exploring the wilds of Canada, Wild Man Dave was captured by hostile wood fairies. Brad, the powerful chief of the fairies told him he could make one final statement which would determine how he would die. If the statement he made was false, he would be boiled in water. If the statement were true, he would be fried in oil. Wild Man Dave found neither of this options too his liking, so he made a statement that got him out of this seemingly impossible situation. What is the one statement he could have made?
Please don't look up answer, it ruins the fun! Thank you

A guy studying discrete mathematics asked me similar question last year and it is fairly a simple question. Just create a paradox and you will survive and a paradox can be created by linking true statement with false. well you can chose any words to create this paradox, one option is that he should say,"You will boil me in water". Now if they really boil him in water, the statement becomes true so according to conditions, he should be fried in oil. If they fry him in oil, then the statement become false and according to conditions he should have been boiled in water. Thus creating a paradox both ways, So he can get out of that situation.
