If I averaged around $5000.00 per month where you are from, how would I be living?

VERY WELL! I think that you would be more than comfortable most anywhere with those wages.

oh my, so life in california is that expensive. i am beginning to wonder now, why so many filipinos settle in that area. i have friends and relatives in california and, they never talked about how expensive life is there, whenever they remember us and pay us some visits.

Well I'm in SC and you would live very nicely here with that amount of money coming in a month. You could get a house and some land and not being paying a lot fot it. I love it here things are a lot cheaper. That is one thing I don't miss about California the cost of everything. Makes you wonder why so many states are so different in wages and things.

Well there are many reasons. Well Cali flips the bills for a lot of people (wellfare)....people that shouldn't be on it are. I'm all for people coming to the US but do it legally because some states are over populated and well thus things so high to take care of all the people. well not gunna get started on it. But yes things there in Cali were and are out of hand.

Pretty reasonably, you would be a fair amount above the average wage, and on that sort of money you might just about to be able to buy a house. You would live comfortably

I haven't checked your profile but from your response I take it your not in California like I. At least not Southern Calif. Calif. wages don't match the cost of living here.

No I live in England, obviously you wouldn't want to go here because your $5000 is worth less and less every day with the exchange rate going up and up. I wouldn't say you would be wealthy but i can survive on £20,000 per year, and you'd be on nearly £30,000 so you would do OK

if you are in the philippines, that is a mighty big amount to be spending. life will be so good for you here, even if you get to buy everything that you will need, you will not consume that much money in a month. thus, you will have savings after savings month after month. it means you can have the planned vacations each year and you can spend weekend vacations in nearby towns and beaches. there are so many tourist spots in this country, and your will surely enjoy them immensely. do not believe in those news reports, it is not true that it is dangerous to be going around in this country. tourists are coming in by the thousands each month from different countries. by the way, only the rich and the affluent are able to earn that much over here.

by the way, a thousand dollars a month will go a long, long way here. you can budget your expenses to only 500 USD each month and still live comfortably. this is the reason why many retirees from other countries have considered to settle here. and we also give foreigners due respect, incidents where foreigners get hurt and abducted are actually very few and far between. it happens when they go to far flung areas which even our government considers to be dangerous. if ever a chance will come when you will pay a visit in this country, just make sure that you visit those places which are approved tourist destinations. you will never cover enough even if you stay here for a whole year.

You know the U.S. calls some countries third world and under developed, but how bad off are they really if in some instances they are surviving better with less stress and money.

Very well. If you just have regular bills and rent, you can live well here off of $2,500/month ($900 would go just to rent).

Hmmmmm, Being that I drive trucks I had considered moving to the South and I especially wanted to see about those from your area that didn't want to return home. I desire a large property with land and maybe even a tributary leadin to the MS. or other river so I can transit to the Gulf of Meico. I know out here that is impossible! I had been meaning to ask you about still vacant real estate.

after rent and utilities, you might have $1000 left.maybe.both are absolutely ridiculous. if you just rented an apartment, you'd need to borrow money. first month, last month+deposit, plus pet fee if you have one.

It seems that you must be in Cali with me! That is one of the reasons I ask this question. It has 2 parts. Since I drive trucks I can live almost anywhere, but then also find the place to retire. I am 39 but the sad reality is that time is closing, FROWN.
