If you are a Christian do you feel comfortable telling others about Jesus? Have you been taught how to witness to others or do you just let the words come from Him?
If you're not a Christian if someone tells you that Jesus is the way how do you feel? Do you listen, change the subject, get upset or do something else? Please let's not bash each other here about our religios beliefs. Let's have a good debate. Thanks for reading and I hope that you'll reply honestly.

Most of my friend know about Jesus or have a religion of their choice. I prefer to allow situations to give me the opportunity to let the light of Christ shine. I feel that if I am agressive or try to push Him on others that I will lose them for Christ. For example, this clerk in the grocery store was having a sore neck and kind twisting. I asked him and how his neck was. He responded and then I said I will pray for you. I could see that I caught him off guard. In my life, when people allow me to go farther, I do. I will fully witness to them. It depends on how far they allow me. When you push people, you lose them.

That's a great way to witness. I say God Bless You to almost everyone I meet stranger or not. It's something simple and nice. If someone wants to know more, I'm happy to add more about my faith.

And if people know you are a Christian, if they have questions or want to talk, they know who to go to.

Well, I guess it *would* catch somebody off guard since it's completely inappropriate. My reaction would be to laugh at you and tell you that if it makes you happy to pray, go right ahead.

I don't believe in God anymore and it really bugs me when people "witness" to me. I really don't want to hear it. They treat me like I am an ignorant moron and have never read the Bible because if I had then I surely would believe. It annoys me because I went to a Catholic school for 13 years and studied the Bible every year and went to Mass every week and all that. I decided long ago that it was all a bunch of nonsense and I don't believe in it anymore.
My biggest problem now is that I have chosen to raise my children without religion and if I mention it online I get bashed for leading them into darkness and what not. I hate to hear people say they are praying for me to find Jesus and save my soul. It is just annoying. My soul does not need saving. Save your prayers for those that really need them. Me and my kids will be just fine.

I think my answer to this one is going to surprise most of my regular readers...
For me personally, I "preach the gospel at all times, and when necessary use words" (quote attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi). While I believe that there is certainly a place for street corner evangelism, I don't think it's what God's called me to do. I am a very relational person. I don't like to get into deep theological discussions with people until I know a bit about them. I don't like feeling like I'm confronting someone when I talk to them about God. I prefer to just show people God's love and then let them ask about it when they're ready. And pretty regularly, they do ask.
Now then, some folks are probably wondering how that can be true when I write what I do here at myLot and other places on the web. Well, those are not targeted at any specific person. They're general messages to the public at large, and those who chose to respond can do so and those who don't can pass the discussion by and move on to the next. I'm not putting anyone on the spot by writing what I write.

What a wonderful way to witness! And the quote is beautiful too. I don't like confronting people when telling them about our loving Lord. I feel it defeats the whole purpose.

I would like to be a better witness for Christ and that is one of the main reasons (not the only reason though) that I have been working towards fixing the problems that are in my own life.
Because I feel like when there are things in my life that are not what they should be and someone finds out that I claim to be a Christian, then the faults I have will be used to bring shame to the name of Christ. (does that make sense??)
Anyway, as for witnessing right now, I don't not really right now, unless someone asks me something. Then I will tell them what I believe, then it is their choice as to whether or not they will believe.
I can not force anyone to believe anything, I can tell people what I believe though, then they can either accept it or not.
I believe everyone has the free choice.
Also it is easier to talk to someone who does not claim to be saved than someone who says they don't need to be saved or who has already decided what they are going to believe or not believe. The reason why is because not all Christians agree on things and some even go on the point of wanting to argue whether or not someone is saved or not based on what the other party says.
So it is easier to say to someone well this is what I believe and this is why, At least that has been true for me so far.
Also I do not believe their is anything to be profitted from trying to force someone else to believe something they do not understand.
And finally I do not believe that any witnesses to anyone can have any real profit unless that you first pray and ask that God prepare the way ahead of you, that he soften the hearts of the ones or one that you may witness too.
Anyway thats my thoughts on that,
I do wish I were better at witnessing but right now I have lots of room for improvement in many areas.

I love your response. Please remember that we are all sinners. None of us are perfect and Jesus understands that. Have you talked to your Pastor about your concerns or prayed about them? YOu sound so sincere. God forgives us and knows we make mistakes.
Praying before witnessing is a great thing to do. And let me tell you as for improvements, I can give you a list! God Bless. Don't put yourself down. Turn to Jesus...

When in a situation where opportunity arises, I let Christ be my guide. But I try to be a witness every day in my actions and speech.
I also respect other people, I know that I don't like things rammed down my throat, so unless someone is open to it, I will respect them and just pray for them.
I just wish non believers would give Christians the same respect and not bash us for our beliefs.

Yes there does seem to be some bashing here, doesn't there? Oh well, I know I will suffer for my faith so I take it in stride. I won't lose my happiness and joy that I get from Jesus. God Bless!

Why should I feel uncomfortable? :P I choose people... whom I talk to about Jesus. You know.. its not about who does the talk... its about who listens. Whoever listens.. then I talk. If someone is not open to the idea.... then why force them ? :P We cannot impose our ideas and beliefs to other people. Let our walk be our talk. :P

YES I like talking about Jesus like song -(lets talk about Jesus)..!!
Thats what the "confirmation" is meant for, after receiving the scarament confirmation its our duty to stand by Him ..!!
But for me its not always it depends on what topic is in the air about Jesus I don't like being a hypocrite..!!!
So talking about Jesus is good but not always..!!
But basically for missionaries..!!
Its their mission to spread the word of GOD through out the world.
Have a nice day.

We are all missionaries of Jesus' love if we believe on Him. As the signs of a parking lot at a church say as you drive out, "Our Mission Field Begins Here". God Bless You!

I am not uncomfortable telling others about Jesus, but I try not to be pushy or anything. My kids and I go to church, my husband does not, and if I try to witness to him, he just gets angry so I just pray for him and leave it at that... I am pentecostal, I love Jesus with all my heart, I love going to church, and I try to witness to people when I can.

I'm not the one who tells people about jesus, i'm the one that hates people talking to me about him. I hate it when people come to my door trying to sell a bible, or preach they're word. I am a believer, that doesn't give you right to come and bother me on my time. I try my best to be considerate and listen to the bible salesmen and other people that talk to me about jesus, but sometimes i'm just like i'm not interested in talking about such a contreversal subject with others.

I feel comfortable in talking about Jesus. He's not just an ordinary friend. He's our Lord and Saviour. Imagine if you have known a friend who has been so nice to you, and was able to help you in your worst times. Would you be thankful for knowing that person?? I guess so. So it just means more like that. Jesus is not only a friend but is more like a brother. Thanks for opening this question. Somehow, you preached the word of God in someways. God Bless you!!!

jesus also known as Jesus of Nazareth, is the central figure of Christianity. He is commonly referred to as Jesus Christ, where "Christ" is a title derived from the Greek hristós, meaning the "Anointed One", which orresponds to the Hebrew-derived "Messiah". The name "Jesus" is an Anglicization of the Greek Iesous, itself believed to be a transliteration of the Hebrew ????? Yehoshua or Hebrew-Aramaic ???? Yeshua, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and great life.

Yes I feel very honest telling others about Jesus, yes I have been taught how to witness to others I also let Jesus show them the right way. It is a wonderful feeling to tell others about our Lord and to correct them if they are not sure about anything to do with religion but I although I am religious I am not a bible basher as they call them.

What a horrible term. Do you feel that being taught to witness has helped you? Or does the Holy Spirit lead you more?

I am not afraid to say the name of Jesus out loud or tell people that I am a believer. I don't pressure other people to listen to me or preach because I respect the belief of others, as I expected other to do the same. Each is to his own salvation and it is up to the person to know better who he is worshipping.
