When no other options are available and/or working, I sit down, slose my eyes and do some deep (SLOW) breathing. I do it even if it meas being late for where I'm going because, as you probably know, anxiety has a way of builing and getting worse. If I have more time, I get a cup of tea/coffee and sit and drink it outside or by a window. No TV, No computer.

It's not easy. After years of dealing with the same thing I'd say the best thing is to get on medication for it. First you need to see a doctor though and make sure its not something serious and just anxiety or panic attacks. If it is anxiety there are a LOT of different medicines. I've done prozac, paxil, and zoloft. So far the zoloft has worked the best for me. I still get the racing heart every now and then when i have too much caffine or something but definetly no more of what your describing. I know people who have had super bad experiences with it though and other meds worked best for them. Youll never know whats best for you until you try one. Hope this helps, and that its only anxiety.

I've been dealing with it for many years, but the last couple of years it's become a lot worse due to life circumstances stressing me. I am on meds, I guess i was just venting at the time i posted this, as I was on a bit of a panic attack.
But I do appreciate your responding, it's nice to know we're not alone in this world :)

I used to have the symptoms you described but now I'm ok even though I get stressed I just go out and beat up some criminals with my little finger just for fun.
Thinking back it was either one of 2 things I had no excercise whatsoever and just sat in one spot eating and drinking and maybe that was what used to make me ill or I spent so much time in my house that I created these symptoms of a panic attack and was paranoid to go out in case people looked at me.. I don't know the mind is a strange thing as we only know a slight bit about the full extent of our spongy brains.

Breathe deep and repeat "I control it, it does not control me" over and over until the anxiety subsides and your breathing is even again.

I'm here to help save the world, not destroy it.
...don't make me have to wring my sponge out over your heads...

It sounds just like a panic attack, however, you should get checked out by a physician just to make sure you are not suffering from any heart problems. If not, then you should assume it's a panic attack which can come on at any time and be the result of numerous things, but most likely caused by stress. Cut out all caffiene and nicotine. Try to sit quietly and try breathing deeply for at least ten breaths. The deep breathing actually has a physiological effect on the brain and body and you will begin to slowly feel better. These are scary things, but if it's a panic attack, rest assured that they are in no way dangerous.
