I think I am just giving my mom a card this year on Mother's Day. My sister is getting married in June, so my son and I will be driving home for about three weeks then. We live 1000 miles away so the trip is pretty expensive. My parents don't mind that they aren't getting mother's/father's day gifts this year. They would rather see us than have us spend that money on them. :)

Those sound like gifts that every mom would like to have on Mother's Day. I'm sure you mother will appreciate it very much.

My mom wants some cabinets done and that's my goal for the moment; also she was talking about getting Roots for her personal collection; I don't know on that. Then she was talking about how she saw Oprah the other day and they gave out kits on cleaning a house better or such; I checked on it and it was a bit pricey, but I may surprise her then.

Well, my Mum kinda seems to be running the show & has been this way since my daughter arrived which is very difficult to handle.
She picked out something my daughter can give her already for mother's day - almost like i am incapable, she always says don't spend much, she's even arranging something for my partner to give me for my 1st Mother's Day - it's a bit ridiculous really.
She thinks i'll be at their place early for Mother's day but i wont be there when she wants coz i would like to spend my first mother's day with my daughter. My parnter already got a raw deal on Father's day - coz my Mum took over that one as well.
I hope you guys enjoy your Mother's Day more than i know i will.

For Mothers Day this year I am taking my Mom back to her old home town to visit family and friends. There is a family reunion that my mom would like to go to but she doesn't drive anymore. It is eights hours away one way so we are going to start celebrating Mothers Day early. We will leave our home Thursday night to be there by eight o'clock Friday morning for my mom to have breakfast with her sister. I know better then to buy her something for MothersDay but I feel that I am still giving her something because I am not only taking her on this trip I am also paying for everything. Its the least I can do for her so that I can see the enjoyment on her face.

I haven't totally decided yet what to give my mother. I might have to work on that day, but that would be OK. She usually has to visit her mother-in-law on that day, anyway. I am going to talk to her about it sometime in the next week and try to set a budget. I don't have much, but I may be able to take her out to one of her favorite restaurants. But, I want to see if there is something particular she wants or would like.

i usually tend to buy gifts at the last minute. if you are looking for some ideas on what to get your mother, i sell items that have been embellished with rhinestones. the rhinestones really make the items sparkle. if you would like to check these items out, the link is blingthings.4t.com
