Well I think it is, everytime someone yawns, you start yawning and feeling tired. Why do you think yawning is contagious? If you know, Share your views. Thanks in advance to all comments :)

I've read somewhere that yes, it is contagious, if you are aware that he is yawning. Like your officemate or someone whose table is near yours on a restaurant. If your aware of his presence like if your observing him and he yawns, there is a chance you will yawn as well. If a lot of people yawned after he did, then you're not the only one who is observing him.;)

Yes, I think it is cause it happens to me all the time too. I keep yawning now just because of reading about it even! I've always wondered what the reason is behind it though. I guess it's just a psychological thing or something!

I think to some extend it’s true to say that yawning is contagious. I consider it to be a psychological influence on others as the people who are yawning are in the same physical situation eg they are equally tedious and tired etc.

I think yawing is pretty much only psychological. If you see someone yawing, try not to breathe in what he/she is giving out. most of it is carbon dioxide and bacterias. Good luck!

I also think that yawning is contageous, even though there are no scientific explanations (as far as i know) on why a person yawns when he saw another person yawned. Þ
